When things were not finished as expected the service manager explained the difficulties but made sure that I was overall satisfied with the service call by adjusting the price..... manager explained the difficulties but made sure that I was overall satisfied with the service call by adjusting the price..... Buyers beware! I’ve never had such a bad car buying experience as with Lynn’s Subaru in Plainfield. Over $3800. was added to my contract (which I did not authorize). Luckily I caught it in enough time. Chris Colino, Jordon (finance), and now general manager, Corey Spaven disrespected me by not taking my complaints seriously. I’ve gotten most my money back but I’m still waiting for the rest. It should be noted that Lynn’s Subaru IS NOT Better Business Bureau recommended. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT since they couldn’t decipher why one of my tires kept losing air. I can only imagine what kind of job they would do on something that’s complicating. I’ll take my vehicle to another Subaru dealer for maintenance. More
Lynn's Subaru sold me a new battery in 2024 for my Subaru Impreza. However, the battery was made in 2018 and had a 30 month warranty. The issue is the battery warranty expired even before I bought the batter Impreza. However, the battery was made in 2018 and had a 30 month warranty. The issue is the battery warranty expired even before I bought the battery. I spoke with the manager and he said he no clue about battery codes that denotes the year of manufacturing. What a lovely explanation from the manager. As a fyi, the 2024 battery died while i was in NYC around midnight. I had to get towed to NJ and next day I had to buy a battery out of pocket at AutoZone. Very deceitful way to sham customers. More
Bottom Line Up Front: Positive experience with Sales Dept, but poor performance of the Service Dept who did not prepare this new car for delivery in a timely manner. Positives: Purchased a new Cross Dept, but poor performance of the Service Dept who did not prepare this new car for delivery in a timely manner. Positives: Purchased a new Crosstrek Hybrid Limited and dealer honored the full amount of my “Subaru Guaranteed Trade-in Program (GTP)”. Car was the right color, with new Subaru AWD Hybrid technology, with minimal accessories loaded into sticker price. Unwanted Extras: $999 Documentation Fee; $299 Vin Etching. Non-negotiable items with dealer for either of these extras. Negatives: Provided the dealership with 6-days notice to prep the car for pickup. Purchased these accessories for installation by Service Depart: 1) All weather floor mats; 2) Rear bumper cover; 3) Locking lug-nuts; 4) Splash Guards. These are easier installations, not involving complexities like wiring or very large body parts. —On day of delivery none of these accessories had been installed —Waited at dealership for 4 Hours for Service Dept to install these items — All weather floor mats were not installed. Mats were tossed in the trunk, still in their plastic bag, and installed by the friendly Sales Rep instead of Service Dept. —When I got the car home, discovered that the $299 VIN Etching was not accomplished by Service Dept More
