1 Review of Mark Neader Automotive
I purchased a 2016 truck from Seth, in November, 2024. He assured me that "everything worked" and, with it being 170,000 miles that is "practically brand new" and "barely broke in". He told me that it was He assured me that "everything worked" and, with it being 170,000 miles that is "practically brand new" and "barely broke in". He told me that it was a one-owner vehicle (though the paperwork showed it had been owned by at least two people!) and that there was no damage on it. Before leaving, the low pressure tire sensor was on. An employee put air in the tires but it didn't turn it off. While leaving, Seth said, "Maybe the sensor is out" and to let him know. We went to a gas station to check the tires; one was at 34 pounds; another 48 pounds. I added the necessary air but the tire sensor was still showing one of the tires was low so one of the tire sensors was out. As soon as I got on the interstate, the steering wheel was shaking so badly, I immediately texted Seth but got no response. I decided to just drive slowly back home. On the way home, the CPU kept dropping my phone calls. The next morning, Seth texted me back and we agreed that the tires needed to be rotated and he would be willing to cover $100 to rotate the tires (which I assumed would be what it would cost!). I also informed him that the truck idling very high and took a long time to come down and that the CPU did not work. I told him that I could have my mechanic look at the other issues while they rotated the tires. Two days later, one of the cosmetic plastic step panels fell off. I let Seth know about that as well. My mechanic had to replace 10 lug nuts and one stud from being damaged while rotating the tires and his final bill was about $283. He told me I would have to take my truck to a dealership to address the CPU and that my right rear tire sensor was out. They reset the CPU and said it needed to have a "software update" ($200!) and that the tire sensor was on "back order" but would be about $240. They found the water pump leaking (and wanted $800 for that!). I was able to put an aftermarket water pump in through my mechanic for $400. They also noticed a tick in the engine and recommended a diagnosis (cost $320) and found that the air box was an aftermarket and was in pieces so they had to replace that. They could not determine what the ticking was coming from and that is still a current issue when the vehicle is cold and is likely going to be a very costly expense. After leaving, the CPU was still dropping my calls. The diagnostic and replacement for the CPU was $944.35. There was a cosmetic piece in the front driver's side corner that was popping out and the body shop stated that at least the left front quarter panel and both left doors had been repainted and whoever put the headlight assembly back, didn't do it correctly and it would be at least $100 to fix. They also stated that the truck left quarter panel and both driver's side doors had been repainted indicating previous damage. I talked to Seth who had Mark in the background and they said they paid the $283 for the tire rotation and would pay for the tire sensor but nothing more. I told them that there was over $1,400 just in the tire sensor, the replacement of the CPU, and the diagnostic of the engine. Seth said, "I don't know what happened to your vehicle as it has been 3-4 wks. I reminded him that I informed him of everything right away. I told him that I didn't want to argue and to clarify that they would only pay for the $240 out of the $1,400 and he stated, "Possibly" implying that they would not pay for that either if I didn't drop the issue. They lied about previous owners, damage, that everything was working and they hid behind, "sold as is", though they were informed of the issues right away and then attempted to threaten to not pay what they had already promised! In addition to the above, THE TICK ENDED UP COSTING $7,300 and internal tear-down of the engine! These are the slimiest sales persons I've ever dealt with. AVOID THEM at all costs! More
