I am absolutely appalled by the service department at McGee Toyota in Epping. For context, I’m a mechanic and I work in business operations — I understand both the technical side and what basic customer McGee Toyota in Epping. What we experienced here was a complete failure on both fronts. We dropped our vehicle off for tires, an alignment, and an airbag/seatbelt light that wouldn’t shut off. We did our part: the vehicle was there before they opened. By mid‑morning, we received a text informing us of a $185 diagnostic fee for the airbag issue — the first major red flag, considering this was never mentioned in the multiple scheduling calls it took just to book a routine service. Despite repeated attempts to confirm that the vehicle would be ready the same day, we received a text in the afternoon assuring us the technician was finishing up and that a 4:00 p.m. pickup was fine. Then, at 4:12 p.m., we received their disgraceful “after inspecting your vehicle” email — nearly $15,000 in so‑called immediate service needs, including an absurd $8,000 in exhaust work alone. And of course, the vehicle was not ready for pickup, leaving us stranded during an extremely busy spring baseball season. To make matters worse, we currently have another family vehicle in their shop for rodent damage. That estimate has now ballooned to nearly $9,000 just for inspection and removal of interior components — no parts, no repairs, just removal. And communication? Nonexistent. Just larger and larger quotes appearing out of nowhere. This is, without exaggeration, the worst service department I have ever dealt with. No transparency. No communication. No respect for customers’ time, money, or intelligence. Steer clear. Seriously. Save yourself the frustration, the chaos, and the outrageous, unjustifiable charges. More
