I bought my Legacy here from Benny, who has been terrific ever since. After one less than optimal service experience, I now only work with Dorsey, who is wonderful. I always feel confident and comfortable ever since. After one less than optimal service experience, I now only work with Dorsey, who is wonderful. This was my first visit with my new Forester....just an oil change...Dorsey was welcoming & very efficient.....I was on the road again in less than an hour....I would happily have waited longer....the aqua oil change...Dorsey was welcoming & very efficient.....I was on the road again in less than an hour....I would happily have waited longer....the aquarium is mesmerizing. As long as I'm reviewing, I'd also like to relay some kind words about my sales rep Rodd Stein. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with him....Rodd is professional, kind, patient & willing to share his encyclopedic knowledge of Subarus. Great dealership....great people!! Thanks Kathy Dunn More
Ever since I've puchased my Forester at Evanston Subaru,I've always had a very pleasant experience dealing with them. Their service department is great. The people are friendly, helpful and straig Subaru,I've always had a very pleasant experience dealing with them. Their service department is great. The people are friendly, helpful and straight forward. I've never felt like they were hussling an un-needed service or part. It's also nice to be recognized when you bring you car in for service. They've gone out of their way to find me a "loaner" and,one time, a rental when the routine service was more than 4 hours. The service waiting area is pretty big and clean (even the women's washroom). There are plenty of magazine's to thumb through & free coffee or hot chololate, if needed. They've brought in some toys for poeple with small kids who wait while their cars are being serviced. My daughter loves Sunny the office Bulldog. Nice touch. My only complaint is I miss their old neighborhood. It's not very pedestrian where they are. So, "YES"! I would definately recommend Evanston Subaru's and their service department. More
Very happy with my experiences so far. This is a new dealership for me, as I have been a loyal customer of Bredeman Ford for the past decade. The only reason I left that dealership was that I wanted a c dealership for me, as I have been a loyal customer of Bredeman Ford for the past decade. The only reason I left that dealership was that I wanted a car, similar in size to the car I was giving up, but with better gas mileage. Had I waited a bit longer to purchase, I may have been happy with the newly designed Ford Escape. The customer waiting area is especially nice with the two available seating areas and coffee bar. Thank you!! More

I emailed the owner, Rob Podor, to express my dissapointment about their access to night drop off for service work. They do have a drop box, however, when I arrived at about 10pm the gates where dissapointment about their access to night drop off for service work. They do have a drop box, however, when I arrived at about 10pm the gates where locked. I could not get on to the lot, I had to drive up and over a median in order to get on to the lot. Additionally, all exterior lights were off, I had to fill out the envelop by the light of my cell phone. Rater than apologize, for the inconvenience, Mr. Pador chose instead to blame me and insult me. This is a snippet from his response... "To judge my operation because you became confused with an after hours drop off, is unfair". There is nothing confusing about locked gates and a darkened building. We recieved similar treatment from Ray Eichenlaub, the service manager, while having service work done when they where actually located in Evanston. In numerous phone conversations with Mr. Eichenlaub, while trying to resolve a recurring problem we were having with our Forester (ABS Light), he was repeatedly rude and condescending and even tried to blame us for the problem when they couldn't figure it out. The lack of professionalism, and the condescending and arrogant attitude we experienced from this company is shocking. More
NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. Ever since I first came here NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. Ever since I first came here to get my car fixed due to an ocurring oxygen sensor malfunction, I have been nothing but dis NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. Ever since I first came here to get my car fixed due to an ocurring oxygen sensor malfunction, I have been nothing but dissapointed. My problems started at their old location in actual Evanston when I took my car in to get my O2 sensor replaced and replaced and replaced. They kept saying that as long as it goes out they will keep reaplacing it. My old dealer in Michigan said the same thing and that they didnt know what caused it, but since I paid for it to get replaced once, they will replace it whenever it happens again. It has since gone out a dozen times. I then took my car on a road trip to Denver and the same thing happened before I even left Chicago. The dealer in Denver said that there is clearly something causing it to go out. That makes sense, fine. I then take it here and they have the nerve to NOW tell me that it is my electrical hub that needs to be replaced to the tune of $2500!!!! They never told me this the countless times I've had my car in there to have the O2 senser replaced before. Thats still not even the main reason why I'm upset. Over the years I've had problems with my radio turning on by itself, the volume going up and down by itself, and the cd player kicking on while the radio is on. I asked Chris, one of the service guys, if I replace all the wiring will this solve the problem with my radio. His response was "Yes, it will cover any of the electronics". During the last couple of weeks my radio has been spazzing out again so I took it back again. Keep in mind I was there 2 months ago to get all of my electrical wiring replaced. I told Chris what was happening and he said that I will have to pay to have my radio replaced. He also said that he did'nt remember saying anything about the radio before. He then asked one of his techs about the radio and the tech said that that my year of my Outback (2005) has had numerous problems with the radio. I then left so upset and decided to call the service manager Ray. He said the same thing and that I would have to pay to replace the radio. he also said that Chris would never of said that about my radio. So in other words he was saying that what I said wasn't true. He then proceeded to start yelling at me like a little child and said "our discussion is over" and basically hung up on me. He refused to pay for my radio after the fact that I dropped nearly $3000 for a problem that has been going on after I had my car for only 2 years. On a seperate note, once they put my dashboard back on from re-wiring my car, there is nothing but excessive rattling from a botched job. They did offer to take a look at it. 1. I don't have countless hours to wait on something that they should have fixed properly the first time and 2. I will never have Evanston Subaru touch my car again. I will much rather pay a trustworthy body shop to replace my dash then go back here again. Words of wisdom: If you ever have anyone in the service department tell you something, get it in writing or else you'll regret it later. More
These guys do the job, sort of. In two different visits to the service department the mechanics, while nice enough, were absent-minded and forgot to replace a cover plate under the car requiring a return t to the service department the mechanics, while nice enough, were absent-minded and forgot to replace a cover plate under the car requiring a return trip, in addition to lack of cleanliness resulting in twice getting grease or oil on the interior of the brand new car. Unfortunately they are the only Subaru dealer in town. Not the highest of regard in comparison to some of the other dealers I have been to across the country. More
