Stay Away – Horrible Experience After the Sale I recently purchased a used Ram 2500 from Mike Bell Chevrolet, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Within three days of owning th recently purchased a used Ram 2500 from Mike Bell Chevrolet, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Within three days of owning the truck—and after driving it less than 100 miles total (just the trip home)—the check engine light came on, along with a warning for the electronic throttle control and a fuel filter issue. The truck ultimately wouldn’t even start due to a dirty fuel filter. What makes this worse is that the fuel filter odometer said 100%, clearly not reflecting reality. This was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. When I contacted the dealership, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior, especially from the service manager, who claimed the truck was “working fine” when they had it—despite admitting they never actually drove it. I asked a reasonable question: if a fuel filter needs replacement every 10–15k miles, why wasn’t it checked or replaced before selling it to me? The response? “It’s not our job.” Completely unacceptable. Now they expect me to pay out of pocket for a serious issue that happened within a week of purchase. No accountability. No support. Tore up my truck when they changed out the blown engine and threw it back together just to make it work. Caused by air conditioning to stop working and would not fix it unless I was willing to pay their cost for replacing the compressor that was working when I gave it to them. Gave me no written warranty information on the "new" engine that is actually just a "remanufactured" engine they tell you is new. I bought this truck brand new from them (not "remanufactured") with only 11 miles on it with working air conditioning. They said it would take 4-5 days to change the engine. It took them 5 weeks and a day to return my thrown together truck back to me (after several phone calls and dropping by to inquire about when I would get it back). Parts have been put back incorrectly installed, my hood is out of alignment, the a/c blows only hot air, the cooling fans don't work at all.... My engine warranty is only "word of mouth" (not in writing) for supposed 3 yr/36,000 miles. Never again! I would give them a -5. More
I am a little disappointed because I clicked to get a KBB quote straight from this dealer's website. The BB value was around $4500-$6500. However, when I got there I was only offered about $3,000. I did not even receive enough to pay my car loan off. But, they promised that was all I could get out of my used car as no dealer could sell it with over 130,000 miles. Now they have my car for sale on their lot for around $8,500 and I am a little taken aback by this. I am left feeling taken advantage of and I don't think I will ever go back here. More
