My Review of Moore Chrysler Jeep:
My wife and I purchased the vehicle on 5/23/08. At the time of purchase we noticed that a tire was low on air. We pointed it out to the rep, Suzie Sarkis, and she said they would check it. They took the car and brought it back with a full tire and told us the problem had been taken care of.
A few weeks later the same tire was again visibly low. My wife expressed concern about maybe having a bad tire, but since they had fixed the tire we decided to give it a chance and try adding air. The next six weeks we tried this twice more. We discussed that it could be a safety issue and decided to have it checked out.
My wife went to a nearby Discount Tire where they told her the tire had a split seam and was not safe. Before deciding what to do my wife called Moore and talked to a rep named Luke. Luke told her that he couldn’t get any answers right now and would get back to her. She told Luke that she couldn’t drive on the tire and would have to get it fixed.
After getting the tire fixed we followed up with Luke about the $114.60 it cost to replace the tire. First he told us that they couldn’t help us because we hadn’t given them the opportunity to fix it. I explained that it was a 125 miles round trip on an unsafe tire, and that my wife HAD tried to get guidance from them before going ahead with the repair. He said that we should have driven to Moore on the mini-donut spare. I told him it was silly and he then suggested we split the cost of the tire and he would give us half the cost in store credit for services - a four hour roundtrip for us. It told him that this was still not acceptable and he said they would pay $60 of the cost of the tire if I would send him an email saying that we were willing to “settle” for that amount.
I told him they sold us a car with a bad tire, had a chance to repair it before we left, had a chance to advise us on the phone before the repair was done, and that they needed to cover the full cost. They refused.
And all of this was just what lead to the final realization that they were a shady dealer. We should have known when they raised the price on us after having confirmed it on the phone and claimed the price we had discussed on the phone and seen online was an advertising error. But it was still a decent price and we had driven the two hours for the car so we made the deal anyway.
If I could, I'd return the car now and pay more somewhere else just to deal with people I could rely on to be honest and stand behind their product.
