I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Motor Cars of Chicago in Chicago, IL. My experience buying a used car from them was a nightmare, costing me thousands in repairs and countless headaches due to their deceptive practices and unresponsiveness. They market themselves as a luxury, high end dealer, but this is simply not the case. I bought a 2013 Mazda Mx-5 in January 2025 and had it shipped from Illinois to Arizona. When it arrived, the check engine light was on, and it ran so rough it was barely drivable. I notified the dealer within their 15-day warranty period, and they verbally promised to cover the repairs. Despite my repeated calls and emails, they never followed through, leaving me to pay $4,200 out of pocket to fix the car, which took six months in the shop. Worse, the dealer failed to disclose critical issues. The car was a repossession from Texas, requiring me to purchase a surety bond to register it in Arizona—a costly process they never mentioned. They also didn’t tell me the catalytic converter was missing, making the car non-street-legal. These omissions feel like intentional deception, as no reasonable dealer would overlook such major defects. I’ve tried resolving this with the dealer, but they’ve gone silent. I’m now pursuing legal action and filing complaints with the Illinois and Arizona Attorney General’s offices. Save yourself the trouble—avoid Motor Cars of Chicago at all costs. Their lack of transparency and failure to stand by their promises make them an untrustworthy business. More

I bought a 2021 Bentley for 180k. It was advertised as certified pre owned. When I bought it, they didn’t have the certified pre owned paperwork, then they tell me it’s certified but It was advertised as certified pre owned. When I bought it, they didn’t have the certified pre owned paperwork, then they tell me it’s certified but they never had the paperwork. After digging I found out it was never certified pre owned. So bait and switch advertising. Got into a nasty conversation w the guy that runs the place (Ray) who was horrible to deal with. Just acted like a child. I ended up having to buy an extended warranty from them at a discount rate of 3k (ripoff). Then the car gets delivered, dents, cracks, and squeaky brakes. I had to do 10k of work to it from the jump. Mostly cosmetic stuff where they lied about the condition of the car. Then to top it all off, I still don’t have my registration and it’s been over 90 days. They have all the excuses in the world. Then I was advised to drive on expired temp tags and if I get a ticket to “call them” and we will figure it out. Bad sales rep, bad mgr, bad backend title ppl. Doesn’t get any worse than this place.
