I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Motor Cars of Chicago in Chicago, IL. My experience buying a used car from them was a nightmare, costing me thousands in repairs and cou vehicle from Motor Cars of Chicago in Chicago, IL. My experience buying a used car from them was a nightmare, costing me thousands in repairs and countless headaches due to their deceptive practices and unresponsiveness. They market themselves as a luxury, high end dealer, but this is simply not the case. I bought a 2013 Mazda Mx-5 in January 2025 and had it shipped from Illinois to Arizona. When it arrived, the check engine light was on, and it ran so rough it was barely drivable. I notified the dealer within their 15-day warranty period, and they verbally promised to cover the repairs. Despite my repeated calls and emails, they never followed through, leaving me to pay $4,200 out of pocket to fix the car, which took six months in the shop. Worse, the dealer failed to disclose critical issues. The car was a repossession from Texas, requiring me to purchase a surety bond to register it in Arizona—a costly process they never mentioned. They also didn’t tell me the catalytic converter was missing, making the car non-street-legal. These omissions feel like intentional deception, as no reasonable dealer would overlook such major defects. I’ve tried resolving this with the dealer, but they’ve gone silent. I’m now pursuing legal action and filing complaints with the Illinois and Arizona Attorney General’s offices. Save yourself the trouble—avoid Motor Cars of Chicago at all costs. Their lack of transparency and failure to stand by their promises make them an untrustworthy business. More

I bought a 2021 Bentley for 180k. It was advertised as certified pre owned. When I bought it, they didn’t have the certified pre owned paperwork, then they tell me it’s certified but It was advertised as certified pre owned. When I bought it, they didn’t have the certified pre owned paperwork, then they tell me it’s certified but they never had the paperwork. After digging I found out it was never certified pre owned. So bait and switch advertising. Got into a nasty conversation w the guy that runs the place (Ray) who was horrible to deal with. Just acted like a child. I ended up having to buy an extended warranty from them at a discount rate of 3k (ripoff). Then the car gets delivered, dents, cracks, and squeaky brakes. I had to do 10k of work to it from the jump. Mostly cosmetic stuff where they lied about the condition of the car. Then to top it all off, I still don’t have my registration and it’s been over 90 days. They have all the excuses in the world. Then I was advised to drive on expired temp tags and if I get a ticket to “call them” and we will figure it out. Bad sales rep, bad mgr, bad backend title ppl. Doesn’t get any worse than this place. Good luck w your experience I hope it’s better than mine was More

I have been involved in purchasing at least 30 cars in my lifetime. Motor Cars of Chicago is hands down the 2nd worst I have ever dealt with. Unfortunately for me. they had a car I wanted that is hard to f lifetime. Motor Cars of Chicago is hands down the 2nd worst I have ever dealt with. Unfortunately for me. they had a car I wanted that is hard to find and I was forced to deal with them. Otherwise, I never would have. I have never had to work so hard to sell myself a car. The saleslady would promise to call and would not, I had to reach out time and again. I spoke to a male salesperson and he was so arrogant and made me feel like a second class citizen. Then if you get past all that, get ready for the excessive fees they add to the price of the car for nonsense things they overcharge on to take more money out of your pocket (one of the oldest tricks in the scummy dealership handbook). When the car arrived it was filthy (enclosed transport), what happened to the days when they at least used to clean the car up and fill the gas tank. I asked about issues with the car before buying it since I am out of state and was told it was perfect. I got it and the passenger door made an awful popping noise when closing it. It was an easy fix, but clearly the saleslady did not even inspect the car as promised. I found out from the previous owner he left a box of the OEM parts he replaced in the car when he traded it in (important for certain cars to have these OEM parts at least with the car). The dealership discarded them before selling the car. If you can buy a car elsewhere do it, you will be treated with actual respect. More
Avoid this dealership at all costs — one of the worst car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. As a serious car enthusiast who has bought and sold dozens of performance vehicles, I came into this dealers car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. As a serious car enthusiast who has bought and sold dozens of performance vehicles, I came into this dealership well-prepared, respectful, and realistic about trade and purchase values. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of a disaster. After spending hours communicating with the sales team — providing all supporting documentation, VINs, title, list of modifications, and even the stock number of the vehicle I was interested in — I finally got the owner involved to try and work out a deal. We negotiated and agreed to what I thought was a fair agreement and I was ready to move forward. But after all that time and effort, I was blindsided. Turns out they had been quoting me the wrong car the entire time, despite me clearly referencing the correct stock number in every conversation. Their mistake, not mine. And rather than owning it professionally, they became rude, dismissive, and completely unaccountable. This wasn’t just a minor mix-up — this was a total failure in basic professionalism and communication. It felt like bait-and-switch tactics wrapped in incompetence. I fully expect the owner to respond by claiming I had "unrealistic expectations" for my trade or the vehicle price. Let me be clear: I came in knowing the market and was open to negotiation. What I didn’t expect was to be misled, disrespected, and ultimately blamed for their internal errors. If you're considering doing business here — save yourself the frustration. Go somewhere that values your time, communicates clearly, and treats potential buyers with respect. More
I sold my M8 competition to Motor cars of Chicago. Ghaith was great to work with. He made the process very simple. I will definitely buy my next car from him. He is an asset to this company. From start to finish, my experience selling my 1LE Camaro was nothing short of exceptional. Ghaith was an absolute professional and very responsive.
