$50 Deal Breaker Going to look for another dealer with integrity. Nice people no hard feelings. Today I had an interesting experience with Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn, IL Going to look for another dealer with integrity. Nice people no hard feelings. Today I had an interesting experience with Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn, IL that I'm letting the world know so that people that are considering doing business with them really should reconsider their options. Basically I arrive at this dealership expecting to sell my car at or close to the price quoted to me by Kelley Blue book online. These people proposed close to 14,000 for the car which was unacceptable for me. I counter offered at 15,500, a price closer to the Kelley Blue Book Estimate which was well over 16,000. The sales person Michael, reiterated they can only do $15,000. At the end of the negotiations I declined politely, there was nothing wrong. I go outside spoke with my wife who told me to sell it for 15,100. I call Michael back who says he's going to speak with his boss. Not 5 minutes later Michael walks out to the parking lot where I am at and says his boss will only offer $14,950. Not only was I surprised that they lowered their offer from what they had previously committed, but now Michael turns around and lies to my face saying he never said he could get $15,000 but that he would "try" to get $15,000. No thank you, that will not work for me. He then suggested I go to Carmax, telling me they might give me a better offer. In my opinion they were just being spiteful. I came in with good faith effort to negotiate a selling price and I understand they have a business to run, but to go back on their word and on top of that lie for a lousy $50 is astonishing. God Bless them, they obviously need those $50 much more than I do. More
Terrible Service...My car has been in 4 times in 3 months. They finally took a look at it by Thursday and still had to contact the Lincoln warranty center to have them come out. By the time the parts were finally ordered and the car serviced, it had been over 3 weeks. I took it home and it broke down again about 2 weeks later. Again, some other work was done, and after the car was there for another 2 weeks, I got it back. Again, it broke down a few weeks later with the same issue. All the while the oil has been draining out into the engine. I took the car back after pleading with the warranty company to please allow me to take it to another dealer much closer to my home. They wouldn't allow this, so back it went to Hawk. They have had my car now for 2 weeks. I called the warranty company today and they were supposed to have gotten back to me within a few minutes. They didn't. I have absolutely NO faith in Hawk or the Lincoln warranty company. They are like robots and will only do what the warranty company asks them to do. It is MY car, not the warranty companies. I knew absolutely nothing about cars, but after doing some research on my car, have found that the Ford vehicles with the 2010 Eco boost engines have had problems with the turbos. If they knew this year/model car has had issues with the turbos, PLEASE make sure they get replaced! They are finally replacing them this time around, but all of this could have been avoided if they would have done it back in October. I, and no one in my family, will ever again buy another Ford/Lincoln vehicle for the rest of our lives! Once I get my car back, I will be trading it in for a non Ford / non Lincoln car. The turbos will go out again in about 40,000 miles. I've read up on it. Sandra More

Terrible service. When I arrived at my scheduled appointment time (10:15 am), I was told the service may take up to 3 or 5 hours and that Hawk Ford had no more rentals available; so I was forced to rent from Enterprise and while Hawk Ford paid for the rental itself, I still had to pay for insurance. After getting my rental car, I didn't bother driving home because I was under the assumption that my vehicle will be ready in 3-5 hours and instead went shopping at the mall nearby. I called 4 hours later to ask if my vehicle is ready and was told that it is being worked on as we spoke on the phone. Now that it is finally "being worked on", I asked what the estimated time would be for it to be done and was told 2 hours. So I waited those 2 hours out and returned the rental car at around 4:30 and was driven back to Hawk Ford, expecting my vehicle to be done in the next 30 minutes. When I asked my service agent if my car is ready, he said that it was barely being worked on now. He said it should take another 2 hours to complete. So 2 hours pass and my vehicle is still not ready, I ask him how much longer because I was at risk of being late to work. He said he doesn't know for sure so I request that he asks the mechanic, and was told to wait an additional 45 minutes to an hour. After a grand total of 8 and a half hours, my vehicle was finally done. By that time, I was very disappointed and extremely frustrated with Hawk Ford. - I was mislead by whomever scheduled my appointment saying that it will take 3 hours, and it turned out to take far longer than what was expected. - Was promised a rental from Hawk Ford, had to get one from Enterprise instead. - My service agent was not helpful at all, lied about my vehicle being worked on when it wasn't (twice), and didn't even bother asking the mechanic until I requested that he do. Instead of telling me that there were 24 vehicles ahead of me and that it will probably take all day, he made it seem like it will be done "soon" and ended up wasting my entire day When I finally left with my vehicle I noticed a problem immediately. Whenever I brake and accelerate, the doors lock. Almost every single time I have to brake and accelerate. This was not a problem before, mind you. Now, I have to schedule another service appointment so that this issue can be fixed. This service was a big waste of time and led to my vehicle not working properly. I was and am extremely dissatisfied and frustrated with Hawk Ford. Absolutely unacceptable. More

I woke to find a huge puddle of oily fluid under my truck, and the underside of the vehicle also coated with oily fluid. I drove to your service dept. early (about 8am) and spoke to the service writer. I was asked IF I had an appointment. I told him no, that I was visiting from Wisconsin, and had an emergency situation. He said "I can get you an appointment in 2-2 1/2 weeks" - UN-BELEIVABLE!!!! After relating that he would not have anyone even look at it, I again related that this was an emergency. He said to go over to the "Quick Lane" service - maybe they can "just look"! I went there, and spoke with the manager, Ed Rodriguez. He immediately agreed to look at my problem. He put it up on the rack, and found a MAJOR leak at the transmission bulkhead connector, and the underside coated with transmission fluid. He immediately agreed to fix this, verified he had the parts, and offered me a loaner car since the repair could take more than the day. The repair was completed by early the next day, and Ed put my truck back up on the rack to show me the repair, and the cleaned up underside of the truck. From the WORST possible service experience, to the best - Thanks to Ed Rodriguez. I would absolutely NOT recommend your actual service department to anyone... More
