Stay away from Nissan of Athens!! They were downright rude and treated us with such disrespect because I dared to ask questions about all the fees (other than tax, tag, title) that were tagged on to the rude and treated us with such disrespect because I dared to ask questions about all the fees (other than tax, tag, title) that were tagged on to the listed sale price. We went to test drive a car, all went well and I was very interested in purchasing the car. We had been in touch with Julio Escobar prior to us making the 2 hour drive there. Listed price was $24,296 and he told us the drive out price will be $27,113. When he presented us the paperwork after the test drive, there were several fees listed, ie. $899 doc fee, $199 taxable fees, and others. I asked what the taxable fees are for and he said "for fees that are taxed". I asked to see an itemized breakdown of the doc fees and he got pissy and said they don't offer that. I then asked if there is some wiggly room with the price and then the game of "let me talk to my manager" began. After a long while he came back and said "no". I then pointed out that in GA, car dealers legally can't tack any dealer fees on to the advertised price (all fees other than tag, tax, title have to be included in the advertised price, otherwise it's deceptive advertising) and that's when all went sour. Julio got really rude, went to his manager, Eddie, again and came back and said that he doesn't think they can do business with us and accused my of having recorded the conversation on my phone and claimed I called the BBB or GA Dept. of Law's Consumer Protection Division. First I was startled by that and told him I did no such thing, then I proceeded to tell him that I really would like the car and was willing to write a check for $27,000 right there. He went back to his manager and then never came back. I saw him walking out the building with some of his colleagues. So we sat there another 5 minutes waiting for maybe the manager Eddie to come talk to us but he didn't. So we asked to see the manager. Eddie came out of his office and the first thing he said was "did you really call the BBB?". Wonder why they were so paranoid about me possibly having made calls??? Maybe because they knew that adding fees to the advertised price is wrong/illegal in GA??? Well, this long story ends with them practically throwing us out of the dealership, saying that they can not do business with us. Sorry for the lengthy story but I felt it is important that I write in detail to give the whole story. More
