I'm pleased with the deal I received on my trade-in/new purchase. The bargaining was as expected and cordial. However, I was offended when the key to my trade-in Odyssey was taken and withheld from me befo purchase. The bargaining was as expected and cordial. However, I was offended when the key to my trade-in Odyssey was taken and withheld from me before the deal was reached to insure I couldn't leave the dealership. Something, BTW I had no intension of doing. If that's a standard sales tactic, I'd suggest it be dropped. If a salesman can't recognized good old fashioned hard bargaining from the customer he might be in the wrong profession? Because of this, even with a deal acceptable to me, I was a heartbeat away from shutting it down, retrieving my key, and looking for another Honda dealer. I bought my Odyssey from Selma Honda in 2019 and had it serviced there since, superb service and treatment the entire time. Selma's folks went way out of their way to take care of my family's special needs. This new sales tactic then, would have changed that history. More
