I'm a single mom and went to the Kia dealership on my own to purchase a car, and I feel like I was taken advantage of. I bought my car on April 7th. By the next evening (April 8th), I realized the AC didn’t to purchase a car, and I feel like I was taken advantage of. I bought my car on April 7th. By the next evening (April 8th), I realized the AC didn’t blow cold air unless I was driving. The dealership was closed, so I returned first thing on April 9th and spoke with C, the salesperson who sold me the car. He got with the mechanic the next day and told me to make an appointment. They kept my car from that appointment until April 23rd, trying to fix the AC. When I got it back, the issue still wasn’t fixed. I returned on April 24th, and even though B initially gave me pushback, they agreed to look at it again. Keep in mind—I had barely driven the car at all, only to and from the dealership. On May 7th, I finally got the car back. Then on May 11th, the dashboard lights came on. I brought it in again, and they told me, “We’re a Kia dealership. We don’t know how to work on Hondas.” They told me I’d have to take it to a Honda dealership and pay out of pocket—after I already paid a $7,000 down payment on a $22,000 car. I don’t know much about cars or mileage. I trusted the dealership to sell me a reliable vehicle and to thoroughly inspect it. But now I’m stuck with car issues immediately after purchase and expected to cover repairs. I do have a warranty, but I still have to pay a deposit to use it—on top of everything I’ve already paid. The economy is hard right now. I’m a single mom. I can’t afford these surprise issues and repairs after barely driving the car. And to be told “oh well” is beyond upsetting. Honestly, this feels unethical. It’s like they didn’t even properly inspect the car before selling it. I feel completely taken advantage of, and I want accountability More
STAY AWAY FROM STERLING KIA. I was looking to purchase as 50K Kia Carnival, but I would not agree to the dealer’s low ball offer on my trade-in. When I told them repeatedly I would not accept a trade-in as 50K Kia Carnival, but I would not agree to the dealer’s low ball offer on my trade-in. When I told them repeatedly I would not accept a trade-in offer that was 3K below the KBB value, the SALES MANAGER, SHAWN FREEMAN resorted to his strong arm tactics. He came into the room with an attitude and started telling me that I did not know what I was talking about. He tried to BELITTLE me and INTIMIDATE me into submission. When I refused to give in, he said he did not even want to sell the car to me and he did not even want to have me in his dealership. He then THREATENED that he would not refund the $500 deposit that I put down to hold the vehicle. He finally relented when I asked him if I would have to take him to court and sue him. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. Take your business to another dealership that respects customers. Based on my experience, it seems like Shawn was trained to treat customers like this. If they can’t convince or get you to submit, then THEY WILL INSULT YOU AND ASK YOU TO LEAVE. I will never do business with this dealership and I would STAY AWAY FROM THE ENTIRE STERLING AUTO GROUP who condones these types of strong arm tactics. I have read a number of other reviews about service after the sale and this dealership continues to treat their customers like garbage. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING YOUR MONEY. Once they have it you will be an afterthought. Drive to Houston to buy from a reputable dealer that provides excellent customer service during and after the sale, not from these SCAM ARTISTS! More
