I explained I was helping my college-aged son from over 2,000 miles away. I asked if they had personally inspected the car, and Mohamed assured me they had. I also told him I’d be paying for a professional pre-purchase inspection and asked him to level with me if there was anything wrong with the vehicle. He said it was in great shape. I then arranged for someone to drive my son an hour away and paid $206 for an inspection at a Nissan-certified service center. The results were shocking: the car had clearly been in a major accident or flood. Every panel had been replaced. The frame had been bent and poorly welded back together. The body gaps were uneven, and the structure was so compromised the car should have been totaled. It’s not even safe to be on the road. I called Mohamed after the inspection. He was just blatantly unbothered. It was obvious he knew about the damage all along and simply hoped we wouldn’t check.
