The salesman explicitly told me unprompted, single owner car, never a rental, never a lease. After reviewing all the documents I discovered that it was a rental. Also had incurred previous damage of which they had absolutely no details about. Knowing very well, just how much invisible damage a vehicle engine receives as a rental, i would have never purchased the vehicle knowing it was a rental. Furthermore, I found that it was not a single owner car. It had, in fact, three owners previous to myself. After speaking to the salesman, luis suarez, who personally told me this on multiple occasions. He sounded surprised, he said, of course, it had more than one owner. He said, of course, it was a rental. He said he told me that when in fact, he swore the exact opposite. Probably the scammiest part of this entire ordeal was that, after speaking to superiors in the chain of command I was told that they classify every used car as a previous rental as to not assume any liability onto themselves. Liability, which is clearly now being pushed onto the buyer. A few other things they lied about. They said it was gonna cost me a 10% restocking fee, which would have been near $3000. Again after reviewing the documents, which they now conveniently put on a usb drive not allowing you to view the documents until you have access to a computer, it turns out, it was only a five hundred dollar flat rate for the said restocking fee, not %10. And finally, since they refused to take my other vehicle in as a trade they agreed to drive my car home several times before finallizing the purchase. The salesman told me that there would absolutely be somebody available to drive my other car home if not he'll do it himself. He himself, confirmed this each of the 3 times I brought it up. I also spoke to the finance guy about the same thing. He as well said, there will be somebody here to drive it home. And finally, the third member who actually handed me the keys also told me, of course, there's somebody here to drive the car home only to take it back a few minutes later and say that everyone already left. I then had to leave my other car there for 3 days. Because nobody was available to fulfill the promise made multiple times. When I finally got ahold of the salesman. He again acted surprise and said "I didn't know that you needed someone to drive it home for you", when he confirmed it verbally three times within the same two hours on the day of the purchase, I then had to go drive back to the dealership an hour away, drive both cars back with him. And then still have to give him a ride back all at my own cost of fuel and vehicle mileage. I live an hour away from the dealership, making it six hours worth of driving to get scammed for a single vehicle. So to summarize they made false promises, only to pretend to know nothing about. They will mark down every used vehicle as a previous rental to avoid assuming any liability, all of which gets pushed onto the buyer. And most importantly, they gave me inaccurate information on the history of the vehicle only to then ask "yeah so what's the problem" making claims that they themselves would love to own a previous rental, which, by all accounts is total b*******. This has been the worst used car buying experience of my life. I went in to purchase a 2021 “Certified” Toyota Prius Prime Plug in Hybrid on 5/18/2023. 5 days after my purchase, I began to experience issues life. I went in to purchase a 2021 “Certified” Toyota Prius Prime Plug in Hybrid on 5/18/2023. 5 days after my purchase, I began to experience issues with the gas mileage being far below the expected mpg. Expected: 54mpg, actual: 29mpg. The dash average was not correlating with actual gas consumption. I began to call the dealership with my concerns and my calls were not returned for several days and when I did speak to someone, they said they would call me back and never did. I had to drive in from 3.5 hours away on 5/29/2023 to speak to a manager in person after several days of no responses from management. The car was to be inspected. 4 days later on 6/1/2023 the car was finally “inspected” and I received a call from a Toyota of Selma service technician that the Prius Prime was getting 50mpg in the city/70mpg on the freeway. When I asked if the car had been inspected, I was told "a little bit". I asked how they inspected it and he said by "resetting everything (dash mileage etc) to zeros". I made the technician aware that I too had been seeing 56.6mpg average on the dash but actually only getting 29.16mpg and that was one of the reasons I had been calling and that I had also expressed this to the finance manager whom was assisting me with getting the vehicle over to the service department. When I asked if the lithium-ion battery had been charged and inspected, the service technician could not answer me. The next day I received a call from the Service Manager “Chris” but I was at work so I could not discuss the findings of the “inspection”. Today, I received a call from the Service Manager “Chris” again and he left a voicemail saying he wanted to discuss the findings of my 2021 Toyota CAMRY. I do not own or have purchased a Toyota Camry. I have emailed the General Manager Jeff Bergman because this is the worst customer service and incompetence I have ever witnessed in my life. There is also discrepancies in service record dates as well that I was not made aware until AFTER I signed a sales contract despite asking for a Car Fax report several times. I urge you to please avoid this place and take your business elsewhere. They do not care about their customers after a sale and are highly unprofessional. More
