Dear Tim McQuade, I am very sorry you had a bad experience at our dealership recently. Were you able to speak with the Finance Manager at our dealership?

Tim McQuade responded

I was able to cancel my extended warranty and told the sales manager about my horrible experience with your service department. I also bought a 2008 Toyota Truck from you. Not only is my water pump NOT leaking as I was told, but after a $50.00 total "new car purchase overview" at Beamers Auto, I was assured that there was no leaking in my water pump. In addition, after having a bad experience when I bought my Truck from your Bargain Car lot on Westchester where after I told them NOT to run my credit since I had a working relationship with Truliant, they ran it anyway. I was given a 2 year oil change and tire rotation for my trouble, but at my first oil change was told that my serpentine belt was worn and needed replacement. So I contacted the sales manager at Bargain and was told they would replace the belt. They didn't and said they did. I have 5 children who will never buy a car from you guys. My truck and New corolla (2009) are fine but, I will be bringing the Corolla to Beamers for a complete overview.Anything wrong I would expect you to fix within reason. ie bad serpentine belt, or bad brakes, (like I've had to replace on the truck) in essence anything major.I've spoken my peace and can't spend anymore time on this. The ball is in your companys court. Sincerly, Tim McQuade (413) 427-6248

David Kecki was a decent man who should be promoted to a finance position. While profit is not a dirty word, I spent 5 years in the business, what you did to me was excessive to say the least.

Vann York's Bargain Cars responded

Dear Tim, Thank you for your response. I am glad you were able to cancel the extended warranty. We are separate from the other dealership you purchased your truck from "Bargain Car lot," so I don't know too much about that situation, you would have to talk to that particular store. However, I will say, Toyota has very strict Certified Technicians who have to go by specific guidelines so if you took it to another place, they do not have the same criteria as Toyota. I will pass your message along to the customer care manager at our service department as well and they can explain our criteria al little better than I can. I know you liked your salesperson, David. This review displays on his personal review page as a negative against him as far as his customer service, quality of work, friendliness, overall experience, and price. If you changed your rating's to all 5's for him you can still keep all your comments, however he will not be negatively affected. Thank you very much, Regards Damaris Dillard Internet Sales Manager 336-885-9016

That's funny about the bargain lot situation when, for example, I was in the Vann York showroom and used my cell phone to call the manager and it went to voicemail. Then, I asked to use an inside phone and he picked up immediately and said he was next door at the Nissan store and would be right over. Funny huh? My service mechanic who is a certified Toyota master mechanic at Beamers assured me that there was no leak in my water pump, although after checking my driveway for water for the 3 days after your diagnosis and my appointment with Beamers, Stevie Wonder could tell I didn't have a leak. Funny huh? I'll change all my numbers to 5 for David, absolutley, but as for your dealership, it's all zeros. I find this very hard to believe that this is your response to a legitimate problem at 2 of your dealerships. I am very disappointed. My next letter will be to Mr. Vann York and the Attorney General, both of whom I am sure will give this situation more than just a cursory look. In fact, they'll probably take a long look and find out who ran my credit at Bargain, who was responsible for running my credit all over the U.S. without sending it to the Credit Union I told them I use,and why my vehicle was misdiagnosed and untruthfully "fixed" at the Vann York Toyota dealership. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, thanks for the free oil changes and tire rotations for a year. By the way the rear brakes on the truck need replacing also. Sincerly, Tim McQuade

Thanks for your response, Tim. I should have been more clear. The Vann York Toyota store is not one in the same as the Bargain Lot. Everything for all of the Vann York Stores is separate, although there is 1 owner. However your technician may be ASE certified, if they work at Beamer's they are not Toyota Certified and their guidelines are different. Thank's for helping David out. It means a lot. As far as the problem with the Bargain Lot, I am sorry but I can't address any problems you may be having with them and ask that you please give them a call to talk about what's going on. Vann is usually here at the store throughout the week, and I can assure you he stands by his technician's. Our service manager and Customer Relation's Manager here are more than willing to speak with you regarding the diagnosis of your truck. The Service Manager's name is Mark Thompson and it is best to speak to him about your issue. 336-885-9016 Mr. McQuade, I don't mean in any way to give you the impression that we are giving any issue you have a cursory look. I addressed the issue with the Customer Relations Manager who works closely with the service department and she said you haven't spoken with them about the problem. I'm glad we could help out with the tire rotations and oil changes. Regards, Damaris

Damaris, This is the first I've heard of a customer relations department which is why they haven't heard from me yet. Now, let me be clear. Last August I went into the Bargain Lot to look at the truck I now own. I asked them not to run my credit as I had a great working relationship with Truliant. I also told them I was going to look at 2 other trucks before I made a decision. I came back in 1 week and bought the truck, but in the meantime they ran my credit anyway.Someone, against my explicit instructions, ran my credit. That drops my score. Then when I returned as I said I would, they had to run it again, because they lied. MY score drops again. Now, I know the business and you don't want anyone to leave the lot, but I came back. A man of my word. The guys at Bargain lot, not so much. Then when I went to se David at Toyota, we looked at 2 cars but the one I wanted when I came back the next day was gone. No problem I said, when the RIGHT one comes I'll buy it. My wife's car, a 2003 Corolla with 275k had to be replaced. I came back again and saw 2 more cars, all Prius's, and we couldn't get the right one for us. Then, I came back for another scheduled oil change and we found the 2009 Corolla that I bought "on the spot". (another auto industry catch phrase, at least up north). While my truck is in for an oil change, the brakes are checked for the 3rd time and since I've already had to replace the front, which were diagnosed as a 1 at the first oil change , and the rear which were diagnosed as a 2 , are now a 1 also. On top of that my "water pump is leaking". Not true. I received a call from Jerome today, a salesman at Toyota who said that I should come in and see him next week and we can get this all straightened out. Really? Jerome runs the show at Toyota? I guess there is no reason to call Customer relations, because I'm all set now?? Wow what a headache. I'm 55 years old and since I was 16 I've bought at least 30 cars. 30! 5 kids, 2 wives and a god child, not to mention 5 years in the business where I was a top salesman,I'd say I've got a little experience in selling and buying cars. So, when I get back from MA.where I'm attending my grandaughters 3rd birthday,( and I bought her a jammin Barbie jeep) I'll stop in and see whomever you guys want me to and try and get this "straightened out". Thanks, Tim
