March 6, 2023 My experience with the Vernon Chevrolet Service Department this morning was a disaster. I found the service representative to be unprofessional and lacking customer service skills. It was Service Department this morning was a disaster. I found the service representative to be unprofessional and lacking customer service skills. It was my first and last visit to Vernon Chevrolet. I was in a fix. I'm out of town visiting my 92 year old mother and was scheduled to drive 1000 miles back to Houston early this week. However, I discovered a faulty wheel bearing which requires repair before my departure. OK I didn't have an appointment because this issue was only realized yesterday afternoon - Sunday - the Vernon dealership was closed. I figured (wrongly) if I showed up first thing Monday morning, the Vernon's service department would do what they could to assist me in resolving my situation. I came prepared to wait for the vehicle all day if required. I arrived first thing Monday morning (7:15 am - they open at 7:30) and watched the service representatives open their shop. Note I was the only person in a car in line at this time. I waited in my vehicle for an additional 10 minutes, assuming a representative would soon come out, wish me a good morning and start the process. Nobody came out (?). Am I missing something? Isn't that the normal process when dropping off a vehicle at any major service department? I gave up waiting and went inside to find a service representative. I found no greetings, no smiles, only a grumpy employee who seemed irritated that I was interrupting him while on the computer. I began to explain my situation but he cut me off when he realized I didn't have an appointment. He proceeded to tell me there was zero possibility of any service / repair for at least 2-3 days. In addition, I was told I'd have to wait for their Cadillac service manager (another hour) if I wanted to still schedule any work on my vehicle. In short, he offered no assistance and basically told to get back in my vehicle and wait another hour. I just looked at him in disbelief..........shook my head and smiled........... which prompted his statement "you can laugh at me all day long but that's not going to get your car fixed" What? What? WHAT? I wasn't laughing; I was just stunned and floored with his response and attitude. He wanted me to leave him alone..... and I did. So much for being part of the "Cadillac family........... More
