***FRAUD ALERT*** - The service department at this dealership PRACTICES DECEPTIVE and ILLEGAL repair estimate scams. We purchased our 2015 Subaru Forester at Walker's so I thought they would have ou dealership PRACTICES DECEPTIVE and ILLEGAL repair estimate scams. We purchased our 2015 Subaru Forester at Walker's so I thought they would have our back when we needed a diagnostic inspection on the CVT. I already knew the CVT needed replacing because I took it to a non-Subaru 3rd party garage first for diagnosis and they confirmed full CVT failure. Subaru Corporate then informed me I needed an authorized Subaru dealer to confirm the CVT failure before beginning a warranty claim so we took it to Walker's. I told all this to the service advisor assigned to me and he promised they could/would confirm the CVT diagnosis with a single $200 diagnostic fee. Later that day he calls me to say Walker's needs to charge me another $570 to tear apart the transmission pan and inspect for excessive metal debris, bearing, belt, gear, and gasket damage. I asked him would this inspection finally confirm the CVT failure I had already confirmed with the independent garage. He could/would not say if this additional test would confirm the problem. I asked him to provide a Not to Exceed estimate for identifying the problem. Again he could/would not. At this point RED FLAGS were everywhere. So I called two other local Subaru dealerships. Both confirmed they could/would be able within 95% accuracy diagnose my CVT failure with a single $200 diagnostic test/fee. Additionally, they verified that when the CVT fails on a Subaru corporate replaces the entire CVT, not individual bearings, belts, gears, gaskets, etc. It is all or nothing, meaning any additional tests are meaningless and unnecessary once the CVT is diagnosed as failing. So I took it to one of the other dealerships and within a 30 minute test drive (something Walker's never offered or performed) they confirmed the CVT failure diagnosis allowing me to begin my warranty claim. Besides Walker's deceptive, despicable, customer scam ethos they violated two Washington State laws enacted precisely to protect consumers against illegal and deceptive auto repair estimates. 1. The Automotive Repair Act (RCW 46.71) 2. The Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86) I encourage anyone who had similar experiences with Walker's to file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Office. Better yet, save yourself the hassle and stay clear of Walker's. More
I want to compliment Arman on providing excellent service- he was friendly, gave a complete report of the situation with my car and walked me to my car when it was ready. He apologised for the fault service- he was friendly, gave a complete report of the situation with my car and walked me to my car when it was ready. He apologised for the faulty washer on a brand new vehicle. Thank you Arman ! More
I would give zero stars if I could. I had the most dishonest experience at Subaru of Renton. My 3-year-old car with 27,000 miles had a CEL, EyeSight, and VDC lights on. * The Lie: Ad I had the most dishonest experience at Subaru of Renton. My 3-year-old car with 27,000 miles had a CEL, EyeSight, and VDC lights on. * The Lie: Advisor Madison told me my oil was "sludgy" to blame me for engine issues. * The Proof: Their own technician’s video stated the oil was "thin" and fine. * The Upsell: They claimed I needed a $2,000 engine teardown and thousands in cooling system repairs (radiator, hoses, etc.). * The Reality: An independent inspection proved the cooling system is fine and the issue is a VVT solenoid—a powertrain part they should have replaced under warranty in an hour. They are trying to bypass the 60k-mile powertrain warranty by creating a "pay-to-play" barrier with a $2,000 teardown fee. Do not trust their multi-point inspections; they are used as a tool for predatory upselling. DO NOT GET SERVICE HERE. Do your research and find an honest and independent mechanic. More
I’ve purchased 3 new Subarus from Walker’s Renton Subaru since 2019—but I won’t be returning. The service department is unresponsive and dismissive. After a poor visit, I contacted Service Manager Tyler— since 2019—but I won’t be returning. The service department is unresponsive and dismissive. After a poor visit, I contacted Service Manager Tyler—he ignored both my email and the message I left with his advisor, David. That lack of response says everything about upper management’s mindset: this dealership is focused on profits, not people. They’re happy to sell you a car, but won’t support you after. Sales Manager Michael was professional and genuinely tried to help, but since sales and service operate separately, there wasn’t much he could do. On top of it all, they now charge a 3% credit card fee, even for oil changes. After years of loyalty, I’m done. They’ve lost me as a customer—not just over the fees, but because of how little they care once the sale is made. More
This could very well be a coincidence as I have no way to confirm it, but the last three times we've brought our Crosstrek in for service, we've found a nail or screw in one of our tires the next day. When w confirm it, but the last three times we've brought our Crosstrek in for service, we've found a nail or screw in one of our tires the next day. When we bring it in to be fixed, the damage is too close to the wall to be repaired so we have to get a new tire (or in this case, a whole new set because of all-wheel drive). This seems incredibly suspicious to me. The alignment of our tires are also off (just after a service - what exactly did you do to our car?), so Les Schwab is now handling our tire needs from now on, and we'll be finding a new mechanic to avoid taking it here. Maybe we'll see less flat tires in our future. More
Crooks! Liars and schemers! Not customer oriented AT ALL! These are the ways I’d describe Walker’s Renton Subaru. These people will make every attempt to scr Liars and schemers! Not customer oriented AT ALL! These are the ways I’d describe Walker’s Renton Subaru. These people will make every attempt to screw you over and bleed you dry of your money. Loyalty means nothing to them. When I moved to Seattle I chose Walker’s Renton Subaru for my 2019 Outback services as I always bring my car to a dealership for record retention amongst other things. At first Walkers Renton Subaru were good but in the past two years they have become shady, and their business practices are SUPER SHADY. Crooked even. They don’t care if you bring your car there every day and they know you by name - they will make every attempt to suck every dollar from Your bank account. On top of that, when you call, the people answering the phones are slow, disrespectful, and rude. They discredit you as a customer and speak to you condescendingly. Nasty people! When you call and ask for a manager guess what happens? The manager NEVER calls you back EVER. They take zero accountability for their lack of work and effort. They lie to your face to avoid work. They let you drive off their lot knowing fully they didn’t address or fix the problem you brought your car in for. They are absolutely horrible. They lost someone who brought their car to them over and over and over for years because they can’t see past dollar signs. Zero credibility with anyone working there. They only care about their “10s” on their surveys knowing fully they’re lying to you. Horrible horrible service and worse service representatives. Can’t believe Subaru of America hasn’t looked into this. Would give ZERO stars if I could. Management here does not care about quality or about the customer. Horrible service and willing to lie to you. More

He started off listening to our needs, but then he stopped. He began to focus on closing the deal at the cost of ignoring what we said we needed. He also became extremely pushy. stopped.
