I scheduled an appointment for an oil change with this dealership in November on line. I was informed that when you schedule on line and it shows an available appointment that doesn't necessarily mean the appointment is really available. You have to wait for a phone call to confirm the appointment is available. Really?? How was I supposed to know that? and due to staff shortages I could not be fit into the schedule for today, and if I want to schedule a future appointment it is going to be forever. I had made an appointment for oil change, inspection and tire rotation. I forgot to indicate that I was going to wait for the service instead of dropping it off. Completely Disappointed with West-Herr Collision – A Nightmare Experience Unfortunately, this rating does not allow for negative stars which is what is deserved. On June 25th, I made the unfortunate decision to bring my son's car to West-Herr Collision at the Nissan dealership for repairs following an accident. What followed was one of the most unprofessional, frustrating, and disrespectful experiences I’ve ever had in 42 years of managing my own personal vehicles. First and foremost, the service team, under the direction of the most rude and inconsiderate manager I've ever encountered, was completely unhelpful and dismissive. They were extremely unprofessional, failed to listen to my concerns, and consistently cut me off during conversations. When I asked them to look at the entire car before starting repairs, they refused, said, "this is the way insurance repairs cars" and insisted on only working on the body of the vehicle. This narrow approach to the repairs was just the beginning of the issues. Once the bodywork was completed, they sent the vehicle across the street for a mechanical assessment. What I was given in return was a shocking quote for over $12,000 in uncovered mechanical repairs. No one at West-Herr bothered to inform me that much of this work was actually covered under a Subaru recall. Instead, they tried to push that expense onto me, expecting me to pay for repairs that I should not have been responsible for. To make matters worse, when I went to inspect the car, it was clear that it hadn’t been inspected thoroughly and was absolutely not roadworthy. They were ready to release it back to me, despite the obvious safety concerns. In fact, I had no choice but to have the car towed to Northtown Subaru, where they performed a thorough inspection and completed every bit of work on the estimate—all for just over $1,350. This was a massive difference compared to the overinflated estimate I was given by West-Herr, and Northtown Subaru even confirmed that most of the work West-Herr suggested was completely unnecessary. Two different mechanics, complete with video documentations, proved that. Even worse, West-Herr claimed there were substantial issues under the car—issues that were looked at twice by Northtown Subaru, who confirmed that there was absolutely nothing wrong. They also failed to disclose that one part (the steering box) was covered under Subaru's extended warranty, meaning it would cost me nothing to replace. West-Herr didn’t mention this crucial detail, leaving me in the dark about what was actually covered. As a customer who has purchased 32 vehicles over the course of 42 years—many of them through the West-Herr family—I can say without hesitation that I will never buy another vehicle from them again. The entire experience at West-Herr Collision was a complete waste of time and money, and I would not recommend them to anyone, whether for a purchase or a repair. More
West Herr Nisan has always been very responsive plus knowledgeable and courteous.. they listen to me and explain what needs to be done including costs.
