If I could give 0 stars I would. I recently bought a 2013 Nissan Armada with 170k miles on it from Zoom Motors of Bristol a few weeks ago. Test drive felt okay, looked okay, I thought it was a good deal. High mileage but these cars are supposed to last a while, so it seemed fine. On the drive home after purchasing, I noticed some loud rattling coming from underneath as well as a harsh jerkiness of the steering wheel over bumps. Took it to a mechanic and needed about $3k worth of work. They didn’t have to do this, but Zoom graciously offered me $1k to help cover the cost (however, the owner just told me he is pissed at his employees for doing that). Fast forward a few days and my engine started knocking. Took it to a Nissan dealership and then a local mechanic for a second opinion, and both said that it needs a whole new engine. The oil looked like sludge mixed with some other substance to maybe dampen the engine noise when they tried to change the oil, quoting me anywhere from $6k-$12k for a new engine. Let me be clear, I bought it as is. However, this was under the assumption that this dealer actually looked at the vehicle in any competent way and priced it accordingly, deeming it safe to operate. There is no way they couldn’t have noticed the extent of the issues with this vehicle if they did a basic inspection on it. Either they do not actually look at the vehicles besides kicking the tires and driving it around before they sell them, or they knew about the issues and chose to not disclose them. With the extensive nature of total engine failure just a few hundred miles after purchasing, they had to have known something was up, especially when they first decided to purchase the car themselves. Just got off the phone with the condescending owner and they aren’t going to do anything. He said, and I quote, “we assume we are selling cars to big boys.” Again, I bought it as is —I own that. No warranty because the only one they offered was $4k for 3 years limited. My purchase of it as is, though, was based off of an understanding that they had inspected it and were a trustworthy and reputable dealer. How I was wrong. Lessons I’ve learned: 1.) Get a pre purchase inspection on a used vehicle regardless of whether the dealer claims they have looked at it and deemed it road worthy. 2.) Stay far away from Zoom Motors of Bristol, who don’t care if you drive off in a vehicle that is safe/operable or not. More
Great experience purchasing our 2014 Silverado from Mike Ingle over the weekend. Drove down from Wise, VA with our preapproval and it matched perfectly. Will use this dealership again when it's time to get Ingle over the weekend. Drove down from Wise, VA with our preapproval and it matched perfectly. Will use this dealership again when it's time to get my wife her vehicle. More
