I purchased a 2025 Sportage Kia from this dealership in - gstratton50
I purchased a 2025 Sportage Kia from this dealership in October 2024. On the day I signed for the vehicle, they had me download the Kia Access App. I signed for the vehicle and asked them if they would detail it before I picked it up. The next day, they called me to say it was finished - even though the vehicle had never been moved from the same spot where I parked it in front of the dealership after test driving it (you can tell by the 360 picture feature in the app.) They acted surprised and said "well, we better do that."
After purchasing the vehicle, I soon realized that it does not come close to achieving the higway mpg as advertised by Kia (38.5 mpg). In fact, I consistently got 25.5 - 27.5 mpg on the highway which equals about 169 miles less per tank than advertised. I called Kia corporate and they opened a case for me and said "your vehicle isn't broken in yet and you have to wait until the vehicle has at least 8,000 miles on it." When I reached the 8,000 miles, the vehicle mileage never improved. Corporate Kia said I had to take the vehicle to a dealer to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with it diagnostically. So I did. And Sweeney Kia drove it on the 35 mph streets around the dealer and down the hill in front and claimed the vehicle got 44 mpg (without taking it on the highway). They then asked me to sign a paper saying that my "driving style" was responsible for my poor mileage. I refused to do so. Please don't use this dealer if you want honest people and please don't purchase a Sportage Hybrid if you are specifically buying the vehicle for the gas mileage.
