Service Department incompetent and a rip off - like2baspen

Took my ford ranger to get repaired. It was running rough. They replaced a coil stating it was bad. This did not repair the problem at all and cost me almost $300.00. I took the truck to a local garage and they changed the spark plugs very inexpensively about $65.00 and that repaired the problem. Went back to Phills Ford and was told they did not mis diagnose the problem. I just didnt spend enough money on the repair and they would not do anything else. The owner said if I purchased a car from him in the near future he would throw in a few oil changes. DON,T GET SERVICE THERE.

I love my 2006 Chevrolet HHR, but she is showing signs of maturity (130,000 miles). She still has plenty of giddyap, good performance and gas mileage, but recently her bones are beginning to ache and she complained often and loudly. The front end sounded like it was about to break loose and run down the highway on its own. I took the car to my mechanic who said she was fine, nothing loose. Her screams, however, were tough to tolerate - something was wrong with the wheels, tires, or drivetrain. I took the car to another shop in Watertown that specialized in front ends, suspensions, and alignments. They took the old girl for a spin, noticed the noise, put her up on the lift, looked her over and told me everything was okay. I wasn't happy with the verdict, but at least I felt the car wasn't going to come apart at the seams and leave me stranded. In a final act of frustration I called Phinney's in Clayton. They were an old, family run business that specialized in GM, particularly Chevy. I explained the problem with my old HHR and explained I loved the car and would really appreciate someone who could fix the car, eliminate the rattling and give me back the car I enjoyed so much. Not long after I dropped the car off with the mechanics at Phinney's, I got a call from Kristin telling me they found the problem, explained what was needed for the repair and suggested some other repairs to put back on the road in tip-top shape. After I picked up the car it didn't take long to see the car was in great shape. The car ran and performed as well as when it was new - I was overjoyed! I don't normally review products or services, but I feel I owe something to Phinneys since OTHERS couldn't find the problem and told me to live with an older car with too many miles. Phinneys were able to do what others failed to do. My only regret is that I had to pay for two other services before I got it done right at Phinneys. I won't make that mistake again. I happily recommend having your car serviced at Phinneys. Do it to save both time and money.

If you're looking for an unforgettable experience at Piehler Jaguar and Land Rover of Rochester, then look no further—because you will certainly *never* forget how miserable it can be to entrust your car to a dealership that can’t even identify a problem, let alone fix it. I recently brought my car in for service, and to say it was a disaster would be an understatement. It took them *one full week* just to get my car into the shop. That’s right, a week—during which I was treated to an endless series of excuses about how they only had one technician who specializes in my type of car (and apparently he’s always “in training,” whatever that means). Meanwhile, they spent more time explaining the size of their service area and the impressive distances they cover, than actually diagnosing my vehicle. By the time they finally did get around to looking at my car, they still couldn’t figure out what was wrong. If this is what passes for customer service at a *luxury* dealership, I can’t imagine what the standard is for the competition. It’s almost as if they believe their brand name alone should be enough to compensate for the glaring lack of competence or care. For a place that prides itself on high-end vehicles, Piehler Jaguar and Land Rover might want to consider investing in more than just the brand. Perhaps it’s time to actually *train* their staff to handle the vehicles they sell—and maybe, just maybe, stop turning their customers’ service appointments into endless, frustrating exercises in wasted time. Avoid at all costs.

Very valuable Volkswagen repair service car owners I have a 2021 VW ID4 electric car. I bought it with 2500 miles on it and I took the car to the service more than six times. The car's electric motor was not making any noise at 56th Street Brooklyn. They replaced a part for $1600. We said okay, okay. A few days later another light came on. I went to Brooklyn Volkswagen again and they checked and said there was a small battery in the electric car. They said it was not working and replaced it three days later, the same light. The electric system was not working. It came on again at Brooklyn Volkswagen. I brought it in and they ran diagnostics, this time it was a high power battery. They said my car had 45,000 miles and they said they couldn't do it for me. They said they didn't have an electrical engineer and told me to go to Bayridge Volkswagen. I went and bought a Radovi first and went 10 days later. They said they couldn't do it for me and said to go to Long Island Platinum Volkswagen. I called and made an appointment and went two weeks later. Okay, they looked at it and made a check and then charged me $259.00. I asked why they weren't changing the batteries. They told me my car had a TLC plate, but the warranty was 50,000 miles. That's how many TLC plate cars have. Did you see the miles on the car? Why didn't you tell me? Platinum Volkswagen lied. But why did you say 100,000 miles when you bought the warranty? You say 8 years. I bought the warranty and paid $2600.00 extra. Is this possible? Why didn't you tell me? I said I would put a TLC plate when I bought the car. Brooklyn Volkswagen is hostile to me here. Since you don't understand, why did you change the small batteries in the electric car? They made me waste my time. Bayridge Volkswagen spoke honestly. The name was edi. A nice mechanic will help me now. I'm looking for a lawyer from Volkswagen USA. Thanks for making a secret. My daughter’s Ford Fiesta overheated. It was bought at a different dealership, so these guys wouldn’t even look at it - even though it is still under warranty! Told me I would have to wait 2 weeks - even when I had it parked right outside their door!

Suddenly, a compressor on my Palisade has died but the compressors were backordered. I called Hyundai case management and they promptly shipped a compressor to Plaza Hyundai. Both Hyundai case management and Hyundai Plaza service management called me almost every day notifying me about the status of my case. The new compressor has been installed and tested ahead of expected time. I am incredibly grateful to William Bonilla, the Assistant Service Manager of Hyundai Plaza. While Ford is making some great cars, the experience of buying one at this dealership makes it worth either going elsewhere or buying a different make of car. As someone wrote below, this place is a throwback to the worst days of car dealerships in every way. My specific complaint: Try getting someone on the phone here. You'll be like one of those characters in the movie OId--you'll age a year in a half hour. Worst of all is the service department, which actively seems to make it a psychological obstacle course to reach them. This might not matter so much if Pleasantville Ford had a functional website, but its stie functions like it was built in 1999. You feel like you're stuck in some Kafka-esque nightmare where you'll spend all day calling, leaving messages, being transferred, being put on hold for ten minutes before you get cut off....For the sake of your own mental health, please...stay away from this dealership. Otherwise, you'll regret buying from Pleasantville Ford the first time you have to engage with the dealer post-purchase.

First off I have had a great sales experience with Ross. He is always available with any questions on my Targa 4S. Seamless experience getting my wheels repaired and my front nose wrapped with a clear bra. Ross even gave me his cell to text with questions. Ross introduces me to Elliott who has been very professional and accommodating for my service needs. Every time I bring him my car it’s returned clean and tuned up. These guys really know luxury cars!

Do NOT use the service department at Porsche of Southampton. They are incompetent and do not know the first thing about customer service. My car was towed on Wendnesday with a flat. I was told they didn't have a tire in stock, would try to get it by Saturday (but admitted it likely couldn't be delivered even in 3 days), and I should try back on Tuesday (because they are closed Sunday and Monday). What car would I use for those five days? "We don't have a loaner, so you're on your own. Figure it out. See you Tuesday." What dealership doesn't stock its own tires and can't get them for days? Not a dealership you should use. And Dermot and Frank need some customer service lessons. STEAR CLEAR!
