We had a 91 Mercedes 300E with 110k miles that was given to us by a family member who got tired of paying for the expensive repairs. The car was leaking fluid and would overheat within 10 mins of driving. With the low mileage, we decided to salvage the MB and to get it repaired when we had the money to spare. The MB sat inoperable and unsheltered in our driveway for about two years. When our son received his driver's license, the MB was towed to Springfield Motors. We explained that we needed the MB repaired to a safe and fully functional condition for our teenage son. They gave us a full estimate of $5k upfront, performed the tune-ups and repairs and had it ready for pickup within a week. The MB felt like a brand new car. We were very impressed with the service and my son was exceptionally thrilled to receive the MB as an early birthday present. We never had a single problem with the MB since the full service. It ran very strong and was extremely reliable. Sadly, due to a driver's error, the car was totaled in an accident 10 months later. The life of the MB prematurely ended. It had many more years and at least another 100k miles left before the collison. What a heartbreaker... *sigh*
