I originally posted this review on Google, but the dealer keeps HIDING the review.
08/02/25 LATEST UPDATE: see bottom of review for update
AVOID this dealership and all conglomerate dealerships under the Wayne Mazda hat like the plague. I have received better service at a McDonald's drive thru at 1AM. I know you probably see the dealer response to this review, but let me assure you nothing has actually happened outside of them placing a statement under this review. You're not buying a luxury experience when you buy here, you're buying a nice car with no backbone to support it. Because of this, I am preparing to trade this vehicle in for a more reliable vehicle at a competitors dealership. I will update when this happens to close this review out once and for all.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Purchased a Genesis here February 2023. The vehicle came with only one key but was promised a second key upon purchase. It is now April 2024, and still do not have a second key. Called dozens of times and either got in contact with my sales rep or was left on hold and eventually told I would get a call back (never got a callback). They claim the key is on order but it's been over a year. Come on. I can buy a key online direct from a Hyundai warehouse for $150 and have it here in 5 days. I've been very patient with this situation thus far, but this shows the after-sales service here is poor. Not for nothing, Genesis is supposed to be a luxury brand with top-tier service/customer experience... If something as simple as obtaining a second key is this difficult, I surely hope I do not have any significant issues down the line...
Update: August 16, 2024. Still no key. Visited dealer and waited over an hour to speak to a manager. Was promised a response the followed week and nothing. If maintenance didn't quote $850+ for the key + programming, would've bought myself to rid myself of this headache. I'll continue to update.
Update: September 11, 2024. Finally got my key after receiving my first call back from this dealer since I purchased the car. Howard got me an early appointment with the maintenance department and had my keyfob reordered. Very grateful for Howard and his urgency after his first call to me. Wish he was around last year when I bought the car...
Update: March 1, 2025. Seems like maintenance/service has gotten significantly worse since Wayne Mazda has split away from Wayne Hyundai and opened their own service center. Seems like the jobs are rushed. Got new tires installed and all of my painted rims were scratched, clear coat removed.
If you want the luxury experience, do NOT buy a Genesis. Wish I bought a BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, or Audi instead. Don't make my mistake.
Update: August 2, 2025. LKA stopped working on my vehicle, I know it's the camera and can replace it myself for a whooping $40. I decided to go the "better" route and bring it in to the dealer for the car to be diagnosed and parts replaced under my additional warranty package I bought for the car (terrible mistake in hindsight). I dropped the car off 5 days ago and have just found out today it has yet to be looked at. No communications otherwise. I have been working remote all week (no car) while the service center wasn't even working on my car, how wonderful. When asked if I can have a loaner car since this is taking unreasonably long (and I need to go back to work), I was told "sorry, we don't have any." Great. I asked if they can cover a rental, "nope." If this doesn't scream "luxury experience" to you, I don't know what does! There is also no guarantee on when this work will be done, so I am car-less until someone at the shop decides to look at the car and say "yeah cameras bad" then order a new one with a 2 week lead time.
In case it wasn't obvious by now, DO NOT buy a car from here. Please don't. You're supporting a problem that you will become part of yourself.
