I want to warn others about my recent experience at the Tracy Toyota Dealership. For the past two months, I’d been in contact with them regarding a Grand Highlander Hybrid. I reserved the car, and they sha Tracy Toyota Dealership. For the past two months, I’d been in contact with them regarding a Grand Highlander Hybrid. I reserved the car, and they shared the VSPEC sheet with me—clearly showing no dealer markups. Every time I asked about the price, including as recently as yesterday, they insisted the vehicle would be sold at MSRP. However, after the test drive today, they suddenly mentioned “one more thing”: they typically charge $3,000 over MSRP. When I pushed back, they offered to “discount” it to $2,000 above MSRP. I called out the bait-and-switch and walked out. Just sharing this so others are aware of these deceptive practices before wasting time at this dealership. More

I drove over a hour to the dealership for a specific used car. While negotiating a price, my final offer of “I’ll give you $xxx more down, if you lower my payment to $xxx”… was accepted by the dealership. car. I went to lunch with my wife for 45 minutes while they printed the forms to sign. I had to wait an additional 45 minutes to finally sign, and when I sat down, they wanted the additional $ down I offered, but didn’t lower the payment as agreed upon. Of course the sales manager came over, explained he’d already lowered the price of the car, and there was “nothing left”, even though he had agreed to my offer before lunch. The car was missing the cargo cover, which they were supposed to lower the price for..they didn’t. It didn’t appear the car was washed, and only the driver’s door was “detailed.” Scratches I noticed on the passenger side were ignored. Gas was added, but tank not filled. More
