Beware: Band-aid fixes and zero loyalty to repeat buyers I have purchased six vehicles from the Chapman group (2 Trucks, 2 Fords, a Chrysler, and now a Jeep), but after my recent experience at C buyers I have purchased six vehicles from the Chapman group (2 Trucks, 2 Fords, a Chrysler, and now a Jeep), but after my recent experience at Chapman Ford of Horsham, I will never return. I bought a vehicle on Jan 28. After sitting for a few days while I was away, I started it to find the Stop/Start system disabled with a warning light. It turns out they replaced the main battery on Jan 13 (right before the sale) but ignored the auxiliary battery. Anyone familiar with these systems knows you must replace both batteries at the same time; a failing aux battery will immediately drain and damage a new main battery. This was a classic "band-aid fix" to get the car off the lot. When I brought this to their attention, they told me to "just drive it" to see if it charged. Now that it hasn't, they are refusing to take responsibility and want to charge me for the repair. It is clear that Chapman Ford only values you until the ink dries on the contract. If they treat a six-time loyal customer like this over a battery they knew was failing, imagine how they’ll treat a first-time buyer. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. More
