The online price appears $3,000–$5,000 lower than what they will actually sell the vehicle for. Here’s what’s shown publicly for the 2026 Silverado 1500: MSRP: $49,720 “Dealer Discount”: –$9,378 GM Factory Rebates: –$4,000 Advertised “Amount Due”: $36,342 Impressive — until you call. Then you’re told the “Dealer Discount” already includes the $4,000 in GM rebates. In other words, factory money is being folded into their discount to artificially deflate the advertised price. The real selling price? $40,342. The number that gets you in the door isn’t the number you can actually buy the truck for. Old-school bait and switch tactics. In my opinion, completely dishonest.
