It did not occur within the hospitality industry where it might be expected. It occurred at Plaza BMW and it was a car buying experience. I had the opportunity to work directly with Courtney Williams throughout the transaction and worked with Charles Smith regarding the financing. I flew in from out of town in pursuit of a vehicle I found online with Courtney picking me up at the airport and bringing me to the dealership. I am a person who enjoys negotiating and visited the dealership prepared to posture, debate, and argue as necessary. In short, I was prepared to win! What I found was a genuine, authentic team focused on my customer experience and in acting as ambassadors for the Plaza BMW brand. The efficiency of the buying process was commendable and I completed the transaction with time to drive the vehicle roughly 800 miles home on the same day. What stands out most for me are the quality of people I interacted with, the emphasis on a high-quality customer experience, the desire to consummate a competitive and fair deal, and the leadership required to orchestrate this outcome by a car dealership! My car buying experience at Plaza BMW far exceeded my expectations not only for a vehicle transaction, but for nearly all my customer experiences. I have attempted to identify how my experience could have been made better, but short of purchasing my airfare, I cannot come up with much. As a girl in her 30’s, I have left dealerships in tears before because of the scare tactics they have used on me around St. Louis..and I didn’t want that experience again. I started my search online and I found a car I really liked and went to check it out. Courtney Williams helped me when I got there and was absolutely the best car salesman I have ever worked with. Right off the bat, Courtney was so kind, patient and considerate and I felt comfortable for the first time buying a car. I couldn’t give him any more higher praises.
