I had been shopping a few months for a specific model and trim of F150 and I found two of those trucks advertised at Bob Tomes Ford and was surprised to find that both of them were on the lot. We test drove trim of F150 and I found two of those trucks advertised at Bob Tomes Ford and was surprised to find that both of them were on the lot. We test drove both and decided to try to buy one of them. The sales experience was not bad compared to what I've seen at other dealers, the salesperson was not pushy, stayed out of the way and gave us time to make our decision. I was happy to find out that the trucks I drove an hour to see were on the lot and priced as advertised EXCEPT the add on sticker. Be aware that EVERY vehicle on the lot has a $4000 "supplemental" sticker on it with "extras" including a "sky monitor" GPS tracker (its their inventory control system- wonder how they know where to find every vehicle is on their lot?? - it's this), tinted windows, a bed liner, good ol' nitrogen filled tires and a few other things----- Know that ALL of this is negotiable. We talked for a few minutes with the sales manager on duty and In the end, I was satisfied with my deal --even with this supplemental the price was better than I could find anywhere else. I got what I consider to be a great deal. I highly recommend that you negotiate this item and demand that they remove this tracker and hand it to you- it's not an anti-theft device, it's an inventory control system. Aside from this I had a great experience and am very happy with my new truck and the price I paid for it. The finance guy was also fair, I used my phone to take a picture of the original deal I got and when I did the math I found a small mistake, the F&I guy looked it over and found the issue, fixed it for me and actually rearranged a bit to make my out the door about $150 less, there was no pressure for "extras" in the office- I said "no" he asked if I was sure then we finished up the paperwork and I headed home in my new truck- not a bad experience just time-consuming like usual. Another area to watch out for: the trade in value- I HIGHLY recommend that before you go to any dealer, you get values form Carvana (thats what I used to sell my trade they were fantastic- the easiest transaction ever) also from Edmunds. Bob Tomes offered me about $5000 less than my best other offer (Carvana) so do your homework first and do the math (trade value offered + TX sales tax offset) and choose what works best for you. They seem a little disorganized, the first truck we went to drive had only 15 miles of fuel in it and it took about 30 minutes (I almost left but glad I waited) to find the gas key-- maybe put the tracker on the gas key instead of in the cars???? In the end, I got the exact truck I wanted for what I consider to be a GREAT price, the "supplemental" was a bit of a fight but we were able to make it work: I got the truck for a little more than the advertised price (I offered what I consider a reasonable amount for the upgrades I planned to purchase anyway) and they were able to accept that number. I did not do the trade in but the next day I was able to get a great value for my trade form Carvana so do your research first. The next time Im shopping, I will go back to the Bob Tomes and give them a chance to earn my business again because they did this time and I really do love my new F150. More
