James Hensley and Gracie were amazing to work with and made the experience as fun and stress free as possible. I drove over 200 miles to this dealership after confirming with their team that they had specific trucks I wanted — including a 2022 model I was told was on the lot, in “perfect condition” and Toyo confirming with their team that they had specific trucks I wanted — including a 2022 model I was told was on the lot, in “perfect condition” and Toyota Certified. I even provided a list of four VINs ahead of time. At no point was I told about any hail damage — not before my drive, not when I arrived, and not even when they sent me to the wrong lot and had me test drive completely different models. When none of my requested vehicles were on site, they tried to get me to write up a deal “sight unseen” to bring one over from another lot — still without disclosing any damage. I refused until I could actually see the trucks, booking a hotel so I could stay overnight. The next day, I finally saw the vehicles: every single one had significant hail damage that had never been disclosed. They were not in “perfect condition” and not Toyota Certified as claimed — in fact, none were even eligible for certification. Financing was no better: I was shown only monthly payments, never the full contract price before signing. When I asked to see the written paperwork, I was told “no” until I brought the full down payment (I gave $10K that day and $15K the next when I picked up the truck). The finance manager withheld all contract paperwork until after I paid the deposit and took delivery. I was charged $6,995 for a bundled “warranty + maintenance” package without a clear breakdown, at wildly inflated prices and with very limited coverage. The “paint” warranty had a $2,500 max payout despite costing $3,000. The warranties were bundled in a way that made them look like one plan, not three separate ones. The maintenance plan was misrepresented and far less valuable than presented — essentially $250 per oil change and tire rotation. I am now canceling these add-ons, but the refund will go straight to my loan, meaning I still paid interest on inflated amounts that should never have been there. From my experience, this dealership engages in bait-and-switch advertising, non-disclosure of vehicle condition, and non-transparent financing. If you shop here: Get every claim in writing. Insist on seeing all vehicles in person before discussing a deal. Demand complete paperwork before signing anything — not on a small screen. Ask for all “fine print” upfront. I was never given complete warranty details, even after I received my paperwork. More

I’m writing this google review as if I’m writing to the GM of Shottenkirk. There is no way I can fully put into words what a great experience I had buying my car from Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford. GM of Shottenkirk. There is no way I can fully put into words what a great experience I had buying my car from Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford. Whether these men, James Hensley and Dillon Erck, are master salespeople or truly as professionally genuine as they appeared to be – I don’t know, but they were able to break down my defenses, making me feel very good about the car I purchased. I went into the car buying process upset about the loss of my previous vehicle. I didn’t want to be buying a car or dealing with a car salesman. I don’t like to haggle, and I don’t like to be cheated. I was as defensive as a person could be. I found Shottenkirk through the online Sam’s club program. I spoke with James the first night I began searching for a vehicle online. My plan was to make the entire purchase online but James came at me with the best sales pitch, his tone very sincere. Over the next few days, he slowly began to wear down, pulling me away from an online purchase and into the direction of Shottenkirk. Through the process, I had to have spoken to twenty sales people from all over the DFW area and beyond – up into Oklahoma and down as far as Bass Drop, Texas. What James told me the first night, that I needed to buy the car from him because he would have the lowest price, was absolutely true. Shottenkirk was a drive for me. I went into the dealership guarded. Then I met Dillon Erck. He and James double teamed me in the best possible way. :) Dillon, the Finance Manager, took the time to make sure I understood everything put in front of me. He didn’t rush me or come on too strong. He innately knew when to give me time, which I greatly appreciate. I was armed with good financing before I went into the dealership and Dillion managed to get me a better interest rate. I really like and appreciate him. I get that I’m gushing over car salespeople but they're worth it. Use these men to buy your next car. If you have any questions, email me.
