I was pleasantly surprised with how easy selling my car was here. I had gone to a couple different other spots and Beaverton Car Company was the best when it came to not only the offer, but the hospitality was here. My experience at Beaverton Auto in Hillsboro was great thanks to the friendly, professional manner that Janet conducted our transaction. She was organized, efficient and professional. Theresa was sharp - thanks to the friendly, professional manner that Janet conducted our transaction. She was organized, efficient and professional. Theresa was sharp - also very nice and helpful when she assisted over the phone. I’d called about an advertised vehicle that turned out to not be what I wanted but Theresa was astute enough to inquire if I had a trade or vehicle to sell. I did and it was a wonderful RDX that pained me to let go of it. She was wonderful and connected me to Janet. I’d already been to two dealerships including Acura on Canyon Rd where it was originally purchased and meticulously maintained. They took their time before the finance man sauntered out and kicked tires, pointed out a scratch and made a low offer - with an attitude. I thanked him politely and left. At another dealership, where encouraging promises were made over the phone, I went there with an appointment then was kept waiting while the young saleswoman had to shuffle back and forth “ behind the wall” - I’m assuming to wait on the decision maker. I walked back after half an hour to see a portly man in an office while the young lady chatted with others. The manager too busy to come out and greet the customer- me. Perhaps they think it adds to their authority? I left after 45 min and no answers. Then came Janet at Beaverton Auto. She was so very pleasant, professional and organized. Her first offer was solid, I accepted and it should have been a done deal. She knows her business as did Theresa who stayed to pleasantly visit with me while Janet had to do the same shuffle to the “man in command” behind another wall… as is the norm it seems. And that would be understandable, it’s a financial decision but there must be a better way and one suggestion I’d make is for the decision maker to step out and introduce himself, say hello and make a comment about being in good hands with Janet. It validates her and would have made him part of a pleasant experience instead of irritating to leave the customer sit and wait. None of the men looked up to say hello except the young man who jumped up to open the door for me with a smile. I don’t know his name but that single gesture is remembered and set the tone. It told me that this not so fancy but clean and pleasant dealership had some standards .. or maybe this young man was the exception because it should have gone all the way to the manager. I sold them my RDX. They will make a quick profit and I don’t have to deal with running ads and meeting scammers. I thoroughly enjoyed Janet’s demeanor, expertise and I respect that. I resent condescension but I appreciate common courtesy. I’m an independent professional.. and yes, an old woman. Thank you Janet and Theresa More
