This is a lie. You damaged your car with a snow Shovel which is clear as day. You reported the damage a week after you took delivery even though it is the size of a softball right next to the door that you open every day to open or exit. We were very accommodating and made an offer to assist in the repair but you felt it should be free because you couldn't have possibly damaged it within a week of ownership and why own it when you can threaten the salesperson with a bad survey(which of course you didn't answer until we didn't agree to be held hostage)Now the social media blitz of one sided stories. Where's the footage of your car damaged on delivery that you claimed to have? Where is your doorbell camera footage or your neighbors? Or the one from your secure employee parking lot? Ahh yes, it wasn't provided because it didn't fit your false narrative. Shame on you

Do you know, I wrote a whole, detailed review of our buying experience in financing a new 2025 Crosstrek from this place, and since the owner updated his response from a non-committal and thus neutral 'we are so disappointed please call us.." to the fictional one below today, I was forced to delete my detailed review to make room for a reply on the shameful new response he provided below. Photos of my original review and actually the whole matter is on Google Reviews for this place.
This isn't a war of words. It's correcting the record, saying it straight for a purchase of over $30k with a decent deposit.
E-mails and dated photos are available, and this behavior from Star Subaru in Bayside NY for such a purchase is plainly unacceptable.. It has been reported to Subaru of America and corporate directly.
But now, kindly allow me a reply to the owner's updated response.
REPLY 1/18/26 to Owner's (updated) response:
Poor attempt at damage control by changing your response and gaslighting again. You can't derive it was damaged by a snow shovel and more than you can say it was done by Santa's reindeer. Plus, the size of damage isn't the size of a softball; it's on the surface of the roof rail, about 1 inch in width and about 3 inches over the rail. Everyone can see that- it's in the photos here! Even five body shop owners knew it was given to us with this damage... "transport/delivery damage for sure" we heard from ALL of them. And I'm sure we would've known if one of us attempted a repair- within 6 days of getting it new from you. So at this point, you're really reaching.
E-mails I have with your sales manager show we didn't even mention the cost of repair; those e-mails show our distrust of you and how we viewed this handling as dishonest. Subaru of America now has those e-mails- corporate, too. And Mr Walters, Mr Poston, and Mrs Rhem of Subaru of America will have your updated response here.
That you updated your original response to this new, defensive stance with fiction--to pin it on these good, honest, and hard-working people in the same community as you that came in with good money and intention--shows how disgraceful and dishonest your handling of this is.. all to deflect/hide your own shame and error. Now you concoct this story for other prospective buyers to think we were difficult, we lied, wanted free repair etc, when the opposite is even in writing to your sales manager. Disgraceful handling of the matter, and even more disgraceful (second) response.
The shame falls on you. You would rather lie, gaslight, and deflect than take care of a problem adequately you very well know how it got there. As we stated in our e-mails, we can afford the repair- we didn't ask for it to be done for free. We just don't trust you at all and especially to fix this. We're fixing this damage ourselves and didn't think of legal action- but now we are.
I was listened to and treated well.

In the beginning of Oct 2025 I was shopping for a new car
for my daughter. One of her choices was Subaru. I knew Star dealership for its high quality of service because I bought my previous cars from Star T

During our visit at the Star Subaru, Kate was our sales person. She demonstrated her deep knowledge about all lines of available Subaru models, explained very well financing and leasing options, took us for a test drive, answered all questions, and was really pleasure and good experience do deal with Kate professionalism. In the end my daughter decided to buy different car, because it was her first car and she still have to improve her driving skills. Three weeks later I was shopping for a new car for myself this time, so I knew already where to go and what to get. I went straight to Kate ( without appointment), we filled all necessary paperwork on Sun, agreed that I come on Mon at 4.30pm to pickup my new Subaru. Monday at 4pm my car was ready, Kate gave me again tutorial about all the safety futures, and other car equipment. Thank you Kate, Thank you Star Subaru for the excellent service.
