Poor communication throughout the entire process. Initially talked with Mark about seeing the car, and when I arrived was handed off to Casey. Casey was about the only highlight in the process. Spec sheet had incorrect mileage and listed the vehicle as CPO. During the signing, we find out the car is not CPO. The finance team utilizes the sales team as an intermediary for negotiations, making the process as arduous as possible. Talk to a financial manager, get an extended warranty included, as they admit the lack of CPO is their mistake. Fine, satisfied with the price and with the compensatory extended warranty offer. They ask if we have financing, we say yes, and that we prefer to go through our bank, sales team, and finance team up front, stating, "let us pull some numbers, we guarantee we can beat the bank's rate". Go to the last finance person, Mike. Starts adding additional dealer "coverages" and add-ons without asking for approval, shows total price (which is higher than what was negotiated with the previous finance person). After having to tell him to remove all non-previously agreed to additions repeatedly, I ask how much better a rate they can offer than my bank. Mike states the negotiated price is contingent on the loan being through them. I tell him that was not part of the agreement, and he states that he has the final say. With the rate being the same as our bank offered, I begrudgingly agree to the rate. To add final insult to injury, the dealership charged the tax for the extended warranty they offered to include due to their error. We get in the car to leave, the experience taking over 5 hours from arriving to closing, and come to find out the car is missing the owner's manual. Again, the only positive in the whole experience was Casey, who offered to replace the missing book. OTD price being over $60k with a luxury brand, the entire experience was way off the mark, would only shop here again under dire circumstances, and frankly would pay a higher APR not to deal with the finance department again. I bought a used Lexus NX 300 that I saw on the internet, site unseen except for pictures, from John Taylor at Lexus of Sarasota. It was a much better experience than the past when I physically went to a Lexus dealership. I got exactly what I wanted and was promised. John had the car detailed and delivered to me in Ft Lauderdale and picked up my trade in. There was a bad sensor displayed on the dashboard and Lexus of Sarasota went out of its way to accommodate me by picking up the car in Oldsmar FL, leaving me with a loaner and returning the car to me a few days later fully repaired and filled with gas. What more can you ask for? I give John Taylor and Lexus of Sarasota my thanks for a painless car buying experience. More
