I’ve been very satisfied with the service at Kia of Everett. I gave my 2018 optima to my grandson but before had $1500 service work done plus $800 for a new valve cover gasket they had diagnosed for a Everett. I gave my 2018 optima to my grandson but before had $1500 service work done plus $800 for a new valve cover gasket they had diagnosed for a total of $2300, to assure he had a reliable car. After that was done the check engine light kept coming on. They diagnosed it was because when flushing the engine particles were stuck in parts of the engine and exhaust. The engine light persisted to come on and my grandson took it back a couple weeks later. They found that the leaking valve cover they replaced had already leaked oil into the turbo and catalytic converter and would need another $5000 of work to make it right. It’s a 2018 vehicle and didn’t want to put anymore money in it. My complaint would be that during the initial service work they said they did a full inspection and found nothing else wrong except the valve cover. My issue is if this was such severe issues why weren’t they caught during the pre inspection the first time. I would have never spent $2300 on the service work. The only thing they found outside the normal service inspection was the leaking valve cover which added $800 to the bill. We were assured that the car was solid other than these repairs. So I put $2300 into a car that was done for already. Granted I’ve never had any issues with this car so it was a huge surprise that they found that much wrong with it. More
