We gave him some information and he told us he would get keys and open some up so we could compare not only outside features but sit inside and open all the doors and see what each car had to offer! Then told us take our time, and showed us some key features of each different car. Asked if he could answer anymore question gave us his information. Then told us go ahead and look around he would give us time to talk between ourself, said to just ask anyone and they could get him if we didn't see him. Said please feel free to ask any questions! Very nice not pushy relaxing look at cars. Asked if we wanted to test drive any of the cars? We talked told him our pros and cons and our budget! Price of truck was fair. Reasonable dealer discount before rebates. Drama free transaction and I did appreciate that there were no dealer add-ons, which is important in this Reasonable dealer discount before rebates. Drama free transaction and I did appreciate that there were no dealer add-ons, which is important in this post Covid industry. The only conversation I did not appreciate was the textbook tactical language from the finance manager. We have purchased many dealer warranties from other dealerships before typically for half the price a day or two after purchasing a vehicle. Very common in the industry to do this as a smart saving measure. I did not appreciate being told that the manufacturer would not honor a full manufacturer warranty just because it was purchased from another dealer after it left a lot. As long as it is purchased within the baseline warranty period, it will always be considered a manufacturer warranty and not a service contract. We’ve done this many times with many manufacturers. I chose not to press back on this claim, however since he very appropriately and very quickly reduced the price of the extended warranty by several hundred dollars upon the first inquiry. This was reasonable. All negotiations are compromise, and I considered this a reasonable enough middle ground. All in all I would purchase again from the dealership, but I would also press harder for a deeper job in the warranty cost, and if offered the same fear language again, it would simply decline and buy the warranty from another dealer. More
