My wife’s car(GLC 300)had a check engine light come on at the begging of October. I took her car to her brother-in-laws house because he had a code reader. We found out what the code was but the check engi the begging of October. I took her car to her brother-in-laws house because he had a code reader. We found out what the code was but the check engine light went out. So we thought ok no big deal it must’ve been a fluke. After I get gas from Costco a month later(November 19th), the check engine light comes back on. So I take it to her brother-in-laws again and same code. I then called Mercedes Benz the next day(November 20th). A lady answered the phone and I explained what happened. She didn’t want to hear what code popped up and proceeded to gaslight me and act like I didn’t know what I was talking about. She said they’d have to run a diagnostics themselves to see what the issue was. After that phone call I had a feeling this wasn’t going too be a pleasant visit. For background information my mom has been buying Volvos and Mercedes since 1985 and she’s had nothing but great service and experience. I as well have had a Mercedes since 2016 and have had nothing but great service, until my wife’s cars check engine light. Fast forward I bring it in on Friday November 21st and the lady said there’s a good chance your wife’s car will be here over the weekend because it could be a major issue. She never offered my wife a courtesy car considering it would be there over the weekend. The lady informs my wife they’ve started the diagnostics around 9am on Friday November 21st. She didn’t hear anything until my wife texted the lady for an update and then the lady calls her and explains everything. Long story short after Mercedes charged her almost 250 dollars for a diagnostics and come to find out she needs an oil pump control value and harness…labor would be 4,055 dollars. Also my wife’s cars 1 year extended warranty was up October 18th and you’d think Mercedes would have somewhat of a grace period or work a deal out saying hey your extended warranty was up on this date but since it’s you have this issue we can do this for you. Overall our experience has been p*ss poor and has left a very bad taste in our mouth's. More
