I’ve been very satisfied with the service at Kia of Everett. I gave my 2018 optima to my grandson but before had $1500 service work done plus $800 for a new valve cover gasket they had diagnosed for a Everett. I gave my 2018 optima to my grandson but before had $1500 service work done plus $800 for a new valve cover gasket they had diagnosed for a total of $2300, to assure he had a reliable car. After that was done the check engine light kept coming on. They diagnosed it was because when flushing the engine particles were stuck in parts of the engine and exhaust. The engine light persisted to come on and my grandson took it back a couple weeks later. They found that the leaking valve cover they replaced had already leaked oil into the turbo and catalytic converter and would need another $5000 of work to make it right. It’s a 2018 vehicle and didn’t want to put anymore money in it. My complaint would be that during the initial service work they said they did a full inspection and found nothing else wrong except the valve cover. My issue is if this was such severe issues why weren’t they caught during the pre inspection the first time. I would have never spent $2300 on the service work. The only thing they found outside the normal service inspection was the leaking valve cover which added $800 to the bill. We were assured that the car was solid other than these repairs. So I put $2300 into a car that was done for already. Granted I’ve never had any issues with this car so it was a huge surprise that they found that much wrong with it. More

The staff is unfailingly supportive and informative, and the technicians do great work. They have never tried to push me to do work that isn't needed just to increase their fees, which I appreciate. I also the technicians do great work. They have never tried to push me to do work that isn't needed just to increase their fees, which I appreciate. I also appreciate that they keep the history of work done in their database so I don't have to bring my repair records with me. More

The workers were very nice, I greatly appreciated the complimentary car wash and that they cleaned out the inside as well. They were fast and efficient! My only complaint is that it was slightly confusin complimentary car wash and that they cleaned out the inside as well. They were fast and efficient! My only complaint is that it was slightly confusing where I was supposed to go when I first arrived and there is no parking so going inside to ask for clarification isn’t really an option. More

I had a pretty horrific experience with the Kia dealership recently. I purchased my car April 2024 at the Kia in Everett and recently my car started having problems starting. I had it diagnosed by dealership recently. I purchased my car April 2024 at the Kia in Everett and recently my car started having problems starting. I had it diagnosed by a mechanic and they told me it was the starter and the battery I called the Kia dealership and asked them if anything was covered since I only purchased the car a year ago. They told me that if in fact, it is the starter, the starter would be covered, but the battery would not be. They told me if it is the starter. The diagnosis would be waived because it would be covered under the pre-certified warranty. They diagnosed it and then told me that the battery needed to be replaced before they could find out if it is the starter I then had to pick up the car pay them $220 for the diagnosis then after driving it off the lot I turned the car off when I went to turn it back on it wouldn’t start come to find out from a mechanic Kia did not connect one of the wires back up and doing this I ended up having to have it towed from where it was. I called Kia and asked them if I could bring it there so they could replace the starter. They did not have another opening for a couple of weeks. I explained to them that I use my vehicle for work and medical appointments for my daughter and myself and needed the vehicle. I work at the post office and make only about $2500 a month which does not even cover all of my expenses and bills I explained to them I could not afford any more diagnosis or tows that’s the only money I had was my rent money for the month. They told me I could not tow it to the dealership that if I did, it would be impounded that I would have to wait until my appointment which was not for another two weeks I asked them if there was a cancellation if they could get me in as soon as possible I didn’t hear from them again. I called them a couple of days before my appointment was scheduled and asked again to clarify that the starter would be covered under the warranty because I could not afford to pay for a diagnosis and I could not afford to tow it there if it wasn’t, they put me on hold and came back and said that if it is the starter, it would be covered under the pre-certified warranty if it was not the starter, then they couldn’t tell me, but they wouldn’t be able to tell me what it is until they diagnose it again I would have to pay for the diagnose if it wasn’t the starter, but if it was the starter, it would be covered under the warranty so I had it towed back paying another $200. They then contacted me after the appointment to say that the starter was not covered under the warranty that I now owed them $220 for the diagnosis and I needed to pick up the car immediately. I started crying because I knew I couldn’t afford it. I knew the starter was bad and they had told me twice now that the starter was covered under the pre-certified warranty now they were telling me that I had to pay them money and had to pick up the car right away. I had no money for the tow or the diagnosis. The manager told me that he would waive the diagnosis fee, but that I had to pick up the car immediately I explained that I did not have money for a tow truck and that I was trying really hard to figure out how to come up with money for a tow truck. He said if I did not pick it up within the next day or two, he would start charging me $45 a day or he would impound it. I am absolutely baffled by this entire experience. I understand that to Kia this is merely training for wrong information given but for me I paid about $700 I didn’t have that I should not have had to pay if I had been told the correct information to begin with. I now have a 30 day to pay or vacate for my rent, 100% because of Kia giving me wrong information. This is a horrific experience for me that has turned my entire world upside down. More
