Sold Car with Issues, Told Won't Fix I purchased a 2010 Toyota Highlander on Saturday, August 24th. While driving the newly purchased car home from the dealership with the car the tire li I purchased a 2010 Toyota Highlander on Saturday, August 24th. While driving the newly purchased car home from the dealership with the car the tire light came on. I called the salesman immediately and he told me to try putting air in the tires. I did, and the light did not turn off. After trying his solution, I called him again and he tried to talk me into just ignoring the light, telling me it “really wasn’t a big deal.” I told him I would bring the car in the next Monday morning (2 days later) so their shop could look at the car and fix the issue. I spoke to a mechanic friend who advised the tire sensor probably needed to be replaced so I brought the car back on Monday to have it checked out by the dealership. When I arrived with the car I was given more of a run around! The salesman spoke to the sales manager and reported back to me that they wouldn’t fix the car if it was a “big problem”, instead of fixing it they would just buy it back. I said I thought it was a sensor that needed to be replaced and was told that they would have to replace all four sensors and that is something they wouldn’t do. I also mentioned to the salesman that the back windshield wiper didn’t work, but that was lost in the shuffle about the tire sensors. After waiting I finally was advised they couldn’t look at the car right now and they would set me up with a loaner. This was disappointing and annoying because the salesman knew I was coming back on Monday to have the car looked at. After being told they couldn’t AND wouldn’t fix anything anyways, I left. Low and behold, the next time it rained the rear windshield wiper didn’t work correctly and after about 3 full swipes it completely stopped working. It is now stuck in the middle of my back window. Finally, the advertisement for my vehicle said it had built-in navigation which it does not (it can connect to Bluetooth, so I can hear my navigation, but I do not consider that as having a navigation system.) Overall I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the purchase. Although the salesman was friendly, I feel that this car was sold to me with issues that they should and could have fixed. I would advise anyone looking to purchase a vehicle to go elsewhere. More
