*1968 Jeep Wagoneer*® Although people credit the Range Rover as the first luxury SUV, the reality is that Jeep had them beat by more than a decade. With a 29 year production run, the Wagoneer underwent a number of redesigns, with the wood-paneled variant being the most well known. But, the earlier examples featured extremely unique and attractive styling, along with a host of great engines. This 1968 example is from the first re-design of the Wagoneer, which was launched in 1967.® Finished in a stunning shade of red with a black houndstooth interior, this Wagoneer was subject to a body off restoration by marque experts Jeep Farm in Arizona. Although this car was restored to look very original on the exterior, while under the care of Jeep Farm, numerous upgrades were carried out beneath the surface to make it both better to use and more reliable. The beautiful red body is contrasted by a set of white painted steel wheels with stainless-steel hubcaps, wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. These wheels are connected to a set of 1982 Wagoneer axles front and rear, which are extra sturdy and give the benefit of power steering. At the rear, a modern tow hitch receiver with electronic hookups has been added® The interior is a very classic combination of black vinyl and black/white houndstooth on both the front and rear bench seats. A two-spoke steering wheel frames a simple white-on-black speedometer that is set within an aluminum panel, and the black dashboard provides a great, unobstructed view of the road in front of you. The original looking stereo has been updated with hidden USB and Bluetooth capabilities.® Under the hood is a 350 cubic inch âDauntlessâ V8 which was sourced from Buick and was a two-year only option on the Wagoneer. This numbers matching powerplant has been updated with a Howell EFI system with an engine control module that makes the car run smoother while improving power and efficiency. Power is then sent through a rebuilt 3-speed automatic to all four wheels. On the transmission tunnel inside the Wagoneer is a lever for the Shiftable 4 wheel drive with a two speed transfer case, and the front wheels have manual locking hubs. To slow the truck down, disc brakes have been fitted on all four wheels.® With the rapidly growing market for vintage sport utility vehicles, the early Wagoneers like this one, present a unique and rare option, with enough space to fit the entire family. This example benefits from a comprehensive restoration and offers a fun driving experience, without sacrificing modern comfort and reliability.® *Key Features* * Body-Off Restoration by Jeep Farm in Arizona * 350ci Dauntless V8 * Howell Electronic Fuel Injection w/ECM * Refreshed During Restoration * Numbers Matching * 3-Speed Automatic Transmission * Shiftable 4-Wheel Drive System * Locking Front Hubs * Rebuilt Differential * 1982 Wagoneer Axles * Power Steering * 4-Wheel Disc Brakes * Original-Look Headunit with USB/Bluet
