Seller's Comments

The last C4 Corvette rolled off the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky on June 20, 1996, and Chevrolet made sure to send it off properly. For the final year of a generation that had run since 1984, they offered two special editions to close the chapter: the Grand Sport and the Collector Edition. Every single Collector Edition was finished in Sebring Silver, a color chosen specifically to reference the legendary 1963 split-window Sting Ray, connecting the end of the C4 era directly back to one of the most beloved Corvettes ever built. This one is a convertible, finished in that exclusive silver with matching five-spoke silver wheels, Collector Edition chrome badges, and red Collector Edition embroidery on the headrests, and the interior is clean and well kept throughout. Under the hood is the 5.7 liter LT1 V8 backed by the four speed automatic, producing 300 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. The LT1 had been the backbone of the C4 since 1992 and was one of the strongest naturally aspirated small blocks Chevrolet had built up to that point. The C4 generation as a whole had navigated some of the most difficult emissions and fuel economy regulations in automotive history and come out the other side still producing genuine performance numbers, which was no small achievement for the era. Power everything is present and working, and the cabin is clean and ready to enjoy. The Collector Edition convertible was the most open and expressive way to experience the final C4, and the combination of Sebring Silver over red-embroidered black leather with the top down is about as correct as a C4 finish can get. These were not built in extremely limited numbers, but the Collector Edition convertible in this condition is a documented, specific piece of Corvette history with a story attached to it. The C4 generation had one of the longest and most accomplished runs in Corvette history. When the C5 arrived for 1997 with a completely new design, the C4 stepped quietly into the collector market. The Collector Edition was the car Chevrolet specifically built for the people who understood that, and this one is exactly what they had in mind. Please call or email us today for more information.
