The 2002 Ford Thunderbird won a significant award when MotorTrend named it their Car of the Year for the 2002 model year. This was the fourth time a Thunderbird model received this prestigious award from the automotive publication. The Thunderbird entered production for model year 1955, marketed as an upscale, ''sporty'' two-seat convertible rather than as a sports car, per se averting direct competition with the Chevrolet Corvette. This low mileage and one owner example has been meticulously serviced and maintained by the previous owner. Bought new in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Each year the car would make the relatively short trip of 100 miles through the beautiful Ashe County countryside, winding through scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, for her annual service. The supple Midnight Black leather interior shows as-new. During storage, the car was elevated off the ground and stored on a lift. This 2,800 mile car is every bit of a collector as you will find. Vehicle purchase comes complete with the hard top stand, two keys/fobs, parade boot, fresh service, 4 brand new tires, original Michelin tires, owner's manual literature and a Carfax vehicle history report.
