2007 Chevrolet Corvette

The 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a two-door performance coupe built around a lightweight aluminum frame and a front-mounted 7.0-liter V8 engine. In this model year, the Z06 was positioned above the standard Corvette in output and chassis hardware, and it used a six-speed manual transmission. The body includes wide rear fenders, larger brake components, and distinctive cooling openings that were part of the Z06 specification. Its proportions remain compact for a car with this level of power, with a low roofline, long hood, and short rear deck. The car was engineered with a focus on high-speed stability and track-oriented handling, while still being suitable for regular road use.

This example includes Head Up Display, Leather Seats, Xenon Headlights, Automatic Climate Control, Push Start and Power Seats. The interior is arranged with a driver-focused dashboard, fixed rear storage area, and a two-seat cabin finished in leather. The Corvette Z06 uses a naturally aspirated LS7 V8 with a 7.0-liter displacement. Factory output for the 2007 model year was rated at 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The engine is known for a high-revving character relative to many large-displacement American V8s, with a redline set above 7,000 rpm. The six-speed manual transmission is paired with a close-ratio gearset, and the rear axle sends power to the rear wheels. Chevrolet equipped the Z06 with a dry-sump lubrication system, which was part of the engine's track-capable design. Brembo brakes were used, with large rotors and calipers sized to match the car's performance level. Xenon Headlights are fitted at the front of the vehicle.

The chassis uses a hydroformed front frame rail structure and aluminum components to reduce mass where possible. Wider tires were used than on the base Corvette, and the Z06 received unique suspension tuning that included transverse composite leaf springs and performance dampers. Steering is quick, and the suspension hardware is aimed at maintaining control under heavy braking and cornering loads. The car's lightweight construction contributed to a curb weight that remained low for its class, and that benefited acceleration, braking, and direction changes. The exterior also incorporates functional air inlets, flared bodywork, and quad exhaust outlets at the rear. Interior equipment is limited to what was needed for the model, with the cabin oriented toward the driver and the added comfort items already listed.
