Drawing inspiration from the original GT500, the 2007 model marked the first collaboration between Fords SVT (Special Vehicle Team) and Carroll Shelby in over three decades. The result was a muscle car that honored its heritage while delivering modern engineering, performance, and refinement. Under the hood, the GT500 is powered by a hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged V8 producing an impressive 500 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a precise 6-speed manual transmission.
