The 2013 Subaru Forester is one of the most versatile and roomy small SUVs you can buy. Its car-based platform, all-wheel drive and generous ground clearance make it a great choice for driving in deep snow or on rough trails. It's also a better driver in corners than most rivals, thanks to sharp steering and a tight turning radius. Its nimble size makes it easy to maneuver in urban traffic, too. All Forester models get standard antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. A rearview camera is available as an option. In government crash tests, the Forester earned a top four-star rating for overall safety and four stars for frontal impact protection.
