Seller's Comments

The Hellcat name was borrowed from the Grumman F6F Hellcat, a World War II Navy fighter plane known for its power and aggression, and the engine itself was developed under a secret internal project called Operation Tomcat. When Dodge finally revealed it to the public, the response was immediate and overwhelming. Demand was so far beyond anything Dodge had anticipated that they were forced to more than double production for the 2016 model year just to keep up with orders. The car that caused all of that was a 707 horsepower supercharged V8 in a two-door muscle car that looked like 1970 and performed like nothing that had come before it. This one is stock, two-owner, never smoked in, adult driven, and carries the kind of highway mileage that tells you it was bought to be enjoyed, not abused. Under the hood the 6.2 liter supercharged Hemi V8 is backed by the six speed manual transmission, which is the configuration most enthusiasts consider the definitive way to experience the Hellcat. It hits 60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, runs the quarter mile in 11.2 on factory tires, and tops out at 200 miles per hour. Those are numbers that were embarrassing supercars costing three times as much when this car was new, and they are just as relevant today. New tires mean it is ready to go from day one. Inside, the cabin is well appointed and completely stock, the way a clean Hellcat should be. The SRT flat-bottom steering wheel, Dodge's unique Dark Radar Red digital gauges, and the six speed shifter in your right hand give the interior a focused, purposeful character that backs up everything happening under the hood without trying to be something it is not. The Hellcat spawned the Redeye, the Demon, the Super Stock, and eventually the Jailbreak, each one more extreme than the last. But the original remains the one that started everything, and a stock, well-documented example with the manual gearbox is exactly what the market has been recognizing as the most collectible configuration of the bunch. The Challenger itself is no longer in production, which means the window on finding examples like this one is only getting smaller. Please call or email us today for more information.
