What's Great About ItTrail-ready off-road capabilityThe Trailhawk trim is the most aggressive Cherokee for off-road. It comes with Jeep's Active Drive Lock 4WD system, which gives you a locking rear axle / low range ('4WD Low') for tougher terrain. It has increased ground clearance about 8.7 in (?220 mm) plus skid plates and tow hooks. Good approach angle (~29.8) helps with steeper or rougher trails. The Selec-Terrain traction management system with settings for auto, snow, sport, sand/mud, rock helps adapt the vehicle to different surfaces. Balanced Performance & Efficiency (for its class)The 2.4L Tigershark I-4 gives you ~184 hp / 171 lb-ft of torque. Not blistering, but decent for highway merges, daily driving, and light towing. Fuel economy isn't terrible for an off-road capable 4WD SUV. The 4WD Trailhawk with the 2.4L gets worse than the FWD models, but still usable. If you're not dragging mountains or doing serious mud, you can live with it. Comfort, tech & features (nice extras)Features like skid plates, locking diff, trail-tuned suspension, etc., aren't just for show. If you like the outdoors camping, snow, light off-road this gives you capability without going full-blown rig. On the inside, it offers a lot: decent infotainment, safety features, and creature comforts depending on trim & options. Things like the Uconnect system, backup camera, lane departure / forward collision warning (with some packages), etc. Jeep Heritage + Practical VersatilityIf you value the Jeep brand's trail/4WD legacy, this model carries the 'Trail Rated' badge, which means it's been tested in traction, water fording, maneuverability, etc. Also useful in mixed conditions snow, rain, mild off-road so it's not just for weekend warriors.
