2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Coupe 2DThis Shelby GT350 is one of the most exciting Mustangs Ford ever builtThis is not a regular Mustang GT. This is the Shelby GT350, built by Ford Performance with a special 5.2L V8 'Voodoo' engine. It makes 526 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 429 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm, which is very strong for a naturally aspirated engine meaning no turbo and no supercharger. The power comes from the engine itself.What makes it special is the flat-plane crank V8. This is a race-inspired engine design that lets the motor rev extremely high, up to about 8,250 rpm, so when you accelerate, the car does not just pull hard it keeps pulling harder as the RPM goes up. That is why the GT350 feels so aggressive, sharp, and exciting compared with a normal V8 Mustang.The sound is also a big part of the car. The GT350 has a factory dual exhaust with electronic valves and quad tips, so in the louder drive modes it gives a very deep, exotic, high-revving Shelby sound. It is loud, sporty, and very different from a regular Mustang because of the flat-plane crank engine and active exhaust setup.It also comes with a TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, MagneRide adaptive suspension, and large Brembo performance brakes. So the car is not only fast in a straight line it is built to handle corners, braking, and track-style driving very well.
