2019 Subaru Forester

The last time the Car Dad needed to buy a new vehicle, he bought a Forester. I had worked at a  Subaru dealership some time ago, and had been telling him for years he either needed an Outback or a Forester, and he liked the Forester better. At the time, his job took him all over California and even up into Oregon, so he was driving in all kinds of road conditions and lots of lots of miles, so he needed something that got decent gas mileage, could handle most if not all situations on the road including snow and ice, and wouldn't break the bank on maintenance costs. Costs. My personal experience with Subarus added to his decades of experience with cars ended up agreeing: the Forester. This particular car has 20 service records on the Carfax, no accidents or damage reported, and a good reliability 3-year forecast. It's a local California car having spent its life in Bakersfield, San Luis, Obispo, and Napa. In addition to the passive safety features, like the five-star crash test rating and the Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive system that puts all other systems to shame (in m and my opinion), this Forester comes with the eyesight suite installed, giving you Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Collision braking. Not all foresters look as sharp as this one, and that's because ours is the Sport trim level, giving it sportier seats and body moulding, plus fancy black wheels.  It has the standard 2.5L boxer engine, symmetrical AWD drivetrain, and gets 33mpg on the highway and 26mpg in the city. It doesn't have a lot of extra features, as the sport is a lower trim level, but it still has all the standards modern tech like Bluetooth and a backup camera.
