During the world-famous Concours dElegance at Pebble Beach, Ferrari unveiled its 50th drop top Prancing Horse - the 488 Pista Spider. With its engine, dynamics and aerodynamics deriving from the 488 Challenge and the 488 GTE track cars, this Special Series Spider model represents the natural development from the Pista Coupe.
Just like the coupe, the car mounts the most powerful Ferrari V8 engine ever, named best engine in the world. The 3902cc twin-turbo V8 unleashes a monstrous 711bhp and combines that power with increasing torque at all engine speeds for endless acceleration and zero turbo lag. The unique engine sound is now even more riveting thanks to the open-top configuration. On the interior, simplicity was the driving design factor. The cockpit has been paired down now featuring door handle pulls, aluminum floors and a glove compartment delete to create a functionally sporty feel, which is further accentuated with technical materials like carbon fiber and alcantara.
