The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness was the first model year for this ruggedized trim, designed for better off-road capability without the need for aftermarket modifications. It features a lifted suspension providing 9.2 inches of ground clearance (0.5 inches more than the standard Forester), specialized front and rear bumpers to improve approach and departure angles, and 17-inch matte-black wheels with all-terrain tires.
evised Gearing: The Lineartronic CVT has a lower final-drive ratio (4.11:1) and a shorter first-gear ratio, improving low-speed climbing performance.
Upgraded Towing: It doubles the standard Forester's towing capacity to 3,000 lbs, aided by an additional engine oil cooler.
Dual-Function X-MODE: Includes specific settings for Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud, optimizing traction control for challenging terrains.
Exterior Protection: Features extensive protective body cladding, a standard front skid plate, and an anti-glare matte black hood decal.
StarTex Upholstery: The seats are covered in water-repellent synthetic material designed for easy cleaning after outdoor activities.
Practical Lighting: Includes LED interior and cargo area lights, including a gate light to illuminate the area behind the vehicle.
