Why We Acquired This Vehicle
ALPINA was never a tuning company. It was a registered automobile manufacturer in its own right, based in Buchloe, taking partly built BMWs and completing them to its own specification with its own engineering. For more than fifty years it built cars that were faster than the M equivalents and quieter about it - and at the end of 2025, ALPINA Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH ceased to exist as an independent company, with the brand passing to BMW. Cars like this one are from the last chapter of that story.
The B8 Gran Coupe is the fullest expression of what the company did. Its 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 produces 612 horsepower and 590 lb-ft - more torque than the M8 Competition - and because ALPINA did not fit a speed limiter, it runs to 201 mph. Not 155. The car simply keeps going until aerodynamics stop it.
This example arrived with its factory build sheet, which records a total suggested price of $146,095 against a $139,900 base. It is finished in the company's own house blue - a color it has been associated with for decades - over black extended hide, and it was ordered with the chassis, comfort, and long-distance equipment that define what these cars were built to do.
